Brad, I think Mary (ladylite) did buy the Actifry.

I'm thinking of it too and the Return to Slender is a good little recipe book.

Keep me posted and we can share results! I'll be cooking on gas again in a couple of weeks.

Love and hugs to you xxx

Haven't got the Actifry but we have got an electric wok that cooks without any fat or oil at all. I was cynical at first, but it really works - you can put anything straight into it.

Which make did you buy Rose, I need to start thinking ahead for when I'm cooking properly again xxx

Are they any cheaper now? when I last looked, for the price they were it would have to at least do the ironing and walk the dogs too lol ;)

This one is on Amazon for £120... rrp £199.... I don't know which to go for but would use it a lot for future cooking...

Good housekeeping approved 2010... I'm going to check the rest out... which models would those that have them recommend please? Thanks xx

Tefal ActiFry Low Fat Electric Fryer

Maz they're one arm and half a leg now as opposed to one of each....

Seriously though i've looked at them and lusted after one, unfortunately my bank balance tells me to get knotted :) xx

its funny you mentioned this..me and the other half was discussing this today...
I really want one..but cant justify how much they cost....
the bigger one would be better for my family (so we can eat in one sitting) but its twice the price..!!

i may wait a couple of months then get one..(small) if they are any good then I will get the bigger one...
decisions decisions lol

my son bought me mine for christmas 2009 and its been used nearly every day!!

would be lost without it. oh and roasted root veg done in it nom nom nom!!

does it make the kitchen smell greasy? i havent got a deep fat fryer! 1 because it sooooo fattening to cook in it and 2 because it makes the kitchen full of grease!

id love one - they r expensive tho, hopefully the price may come down by the time my birtday comes then my mum n hubby can put 2 and buy me one

I have only heard praise for the contraption but it is very expensive compared to other appliances. I would say it really depends on how much you are likely to use one as to whether it is worth forking out for. I know that I would love one but it is low on my list of priorities mainly due to the cost. Must get a yoghurt maker first

What else do you cook in it? Xx

remember they are so easy to clean and also you haven't got the expense of replacing oil.

the other things i have cooked in it are stir frys, chilli, spag bol, i also do the children's chicken nuggets and chips in it and you should see the amount of fat it takes out of them.
basically anything that can be done in a pan that needs stirring can be done in it.

I'm sold! I'm going to get one. Apparently my Hubby pointed them out at the good food show. I can't remember, I was too busy ogling Gordon R! :)

We have the Actifry! It's a godsend! Not only with chips and stuff but it does amazing roast potatoes, and makes 6 sausages in 12 minutes with no need to go back to them during, and no oil at all, yet they come out juicy with very little fat! Fantastic!

Does the fat drain out of the sausages similar to grilling?

I keep thinking of buying one but not sure what I would use it for as I don't deep fry or fry much anyway.
