Longtermer and gaining weight fast

Six Month Post Op
So not been on here for a wee while. I'm 5 years post op. I know the weight gain is all my fault through going back to old habits and eating like I did before the bypass. I've put on nearly 3 stone over the last 2 years. I've joined slimming world numerous times and each timed rejoined heavier. It is not for me. Doesn't teach me portion control and I become greedy. Honestly the thought of another protein shake makes me boke. Today I've decided to do the 5 day pouch test. I've had milky coffee, tea and shakes today . I'm hoping by doing this ill get my restriction back. Does anyone have any other tips to kickstart my weight loss and regain restriction again. Thanks in advance

Hello laidlaw70
just wanted to wish you luck on your 5 day pouch diet

Hi Laidlaw70

The 5DPT sounds a good place to start. I would also suggest, if you don't already use it, that you log everything to myfitnesspal or something similar. It is a good way to see what it using up those calories and how much protein etc you are getting in.

Good luck with getting back on track.

At the moment. Bad. Crisps. Crisps n more crisps. Bread rolls. Chips choc biscuits. Not healthy at all. I now know this is all my fault and need to take control. Do u think by doing the 5dpt I'll ever regain constriction again

Hi there, my provider didn't give me a hard and fast rule but I wanted a number to aim for and now use one gram ler inch of height, I am 5'7 so ideally try for a minimum of 67 grams a day. I can't remember where I got this from, sorry, but I was researching for while. At my current stage of 1- weeks post op I fond that challenging enough.

Good luck.

I don't count anything but instead don't eat any processed foods and still have half a side plate of protein. I eat around 5 times a day and drink plenty of water. I follow a facebook based fitness group that I've found really good and its helped me a lot.
