I saw Kate write on another thread that she has been told her 19th Jan op may be 2 months tome now. So I think us 'undone' ones (lol) will have to get comfortable, as we are in it for the long haul

Hi there as u quite rightly said to me to call the co-ordinator as they didnt give me a choice about having a band or bypass (and having looked into this further im sure a bypass is better for me) i was told mr kumar just resigned without any warning on friday... So there training 2 surgeons who do simular operations to do the bypass...and i couldnt get an appointment untill the 21st feb then just this morning at 08.45 i had a call to say that there was an appointment on monday the 30th to see mr nijjar about the bypass and that my funding has been approved !!!! (yippi) for the band.. And if i go ahead for the bypass then the funding would need to be altered but shouldnt be a problem as they have agreed to fund the op the only differance is the £££££ thankd for all your advice xxxxxxxx

I really feel for you that have been affected by this . This is an emotional rollercoaster as it is without this upset . Like you say the hospital itself isn't to blame , but the surgeon in question lacks in compassion .
I hope the new guys are up & running ASAP

why thank you miss Cathi, you are too kind. wont be long now before you have the 1st lot! i will keep on the right road, as much as the call of red wine will let me! that extra 500 cals will burn a hole in my will power for sure come the weekend! see you saturday i will text you later x

kate im severely shocked that they are asking you to do the liver diet for upto 2 months!!!

im sure if you could do this for so long you wouldnt need the surgery in the first place!!!!

i hope your time comes soon.....and the same to you miss fuffs xxx

that was their original thoughts, but they have since come back with an extra 500 cals per day, now i dont know about the rest of the peeps on here, but if i consumed an extra 3500 cals a week after 5 weeks of 800 cals a day, i would pile it back on, so the plan is, continue with 800 cals and have a small treat when i feel like it. Lat night i had a slice of toast for supper! and tonight i may have a glass of wine. but then again i may not!! we are lucky at the heartlands ( despite the fact the surgeons jump ship!!) the pre-op is choice based and i am doing 1 x slimfast and 600 cals so not as bad as the milk and yoghurt diet which i would hate as i am lactose intolerant. i see soeone has had an appointment booked for monday and am confident it will be 'business as usual soon'

I am under Walsall and my consultant, Mr Mirza, trained under Mr Kumar. I had an appointment with him today and he did now know he had left and was in shock when I told him - they worked together for 5 years.

Hope things get sorted soon for all of you.

It seems he gave no indication at all that he was off. He must have had serious reasons for needing to be off ASAP

I feel so much for those who have been cancelled. It has cancelled out my own grievances. My time will come. In the meantime it's keeping up the spirits of those of the more unfortunate people that counts. I actually feel rotten for complaining now. But it was before all this kicked off. So I have to push aside my guilt complex (which has always been the bane of my life lol) x

South Staffs PCT BMI-45.2 30.12.11 - saw doctor and asked for referral for Bariatric Surgery. 13.1.12 - chased up referral, refused weight management as BMI not 45+ 17.1.12 - saw doc, read letter of refusal, bloods requested, new weight/height to be measured 18.1.12 - bloods for trh/diabetes,cholesterol etc....awaiting results BMI now 44.9 (still not 45) 2.2.12 - next appointment with nurse, get results of bloods and check weight again....will i have a BMI of 45???? 2.2.12 - BMI now 45.2, referral being put in, but do i want or am i ready for surgery? confused.com! 6.2.12 - 2nd referral sent to Heartlands (weight management) will i be accepted this time? 1.3.12 - accepted onto weight management...need to book appointment 5.3.12 - appointment at weight management 3.5.12 Diet - SLIMMM WK1 -11lbs WK2 - STS (not suprised after last wk!)
