You get really nervous ask for a sedative. I had one about 5 years ago and it was fine honest. I didn't have one pre-op, don't think my hospital did them as routine.

It's not very pleasant. Unfortunately I did not have anybody with me so could not have the local anaesthetic (do try to take someone with you if you can).

You have a 1 cm tube forced down your throat for about 2 - 3 minutes ........ it is horrible whilst it lasts, but it really does not last that long.

. Pleased its over with kind of a big shock wen u get there and he tells u it can only be dun with throat spray or u won't get ya surgery.

Yeah am so Plzd it's over with am feelin quite ill now with pain but it's answered some questions which I'm Plzd about. He needs to fix my hernia at th same tym as my op and it's now goin to be keyhole
