Hi ro8yn, I had balloon fitted 26/11/2014, my surgeon was great, he sprayed my tongue to get taste of numbing spray first and then my throat. He decided that it was not necessary to sedate me It was uncomfortable and as I was still aware of everything so could swallow when asked to do so. The whole procedure only took 20 mins and I was back in the ward about 40 mins later. t. I am lucky as had no nausea only had sips of water that day. The next day I was on puréed food but went home ok. Since then I have eaten pretty much what I want in much smaller quantities but struggle with pizza, and pasta. My big problem is the burps and the smell emitted from the wind. I have been reading and have drank a little tonic water to see if this helps also am going to try peppermint. I will let u know how I get on.
