Hi everyone

I'm Jackie from Brentwood Essex and I'm at the very beginning of my journey. I have been an insulin dependant diabetic for the last 40 years and recently went for an assessment at Homerton hospital. I am considering bariatric surgery as I have had problems with insulin resistance for a number of years and things seem to be getting worse the older I get!!

Would be great to hear from other insulin dependant diabetic post op people as I'm not sure what I'm doing or where I'm going
Thanks xx

Hello I'm also from Homerton just waiting for a surgery date I can't help you with the diabetes as I don't have that but wanted to say hello as another fellow Homerton person x x

Hello I had my first appointment in January and I saw the dietitian which she goes over all your history of diets you get weighed and measured and you have an ecg and blood tests and then you have a seminar which is just going through all the different types of surgery, then you're 2nd appointment you see a surgeon who just goes over your history again and this is the time when they tell you which surgery you would benefit from and then it goes to MDT meeting where they discuss your case and whether you would benefit from surgery. Good luck hope your first meeting goes well x x x
