Hello everyone , I'm at the beginning of my journey , I have been referred to St. Georges hospital and awaiting my 1st letter (getting impatient lol )
feeling nervous and excited about surgery , but after being big my whole life , I'm just eager to keep my health and be pain free . Every morning is a struggle to get up knowing the pain that comes with it ..
I exercise nearly everyday but with the weight i am now , I know I'm going to damage myself one day !!
It's nice to have people going through and been through this , most people try to talk me out of going ahead with this !! Xx

I'm at the beginning too, just had my 1st appointment this week. Unfortunately I have learned (from this forum) that this is a very LONG process unless you pay for the surgery. Don't get too excited too soon, you will have a long wait if you are going with the NHS. There are a lot of hoops to jump through! Well done for taking the 1st step though! And welcome to the group. :D

hello Loz1980
welcome to the site! its good to feel excited ,you have made a decision to change your life for the better, but its true what carrying excess baggage is saying too, this can be a long process depending on from what ive read where you are in the country and what your PCT use as its guidelines and how your GP knowledge is on regarding WLS
use this time to research this field, figure out what you want from this how are you going to help the process and see which WLS is the best for you
I wish you both good luck

Thank you , it's so refreshing to have somewhere to go and be able to talk freely and gather information and experiences x :)

Hi Loz 1980

I've been referred to St George's too. The referral was due to go off to them last Friday

You never know, we might meet up there one day......

I'm feeling nervous and excited (and very impatient) too so I know how you're feeling.

Found out last weekend that my eldest is planning to get married around Easter 2016 so I just hope that doesn't clash with any of the dates I need to be either on the pre or post op diets or too close to the op.....

Anyhow, hope both our journeys go well and don't take too long!
