Have been told I need 60grams of protein a day after surgery and to do this in the intial liquid and puree stage my dietician said to use a protein powder but didnt say which ones.
Can anyone recommend any that are suitable?
X

I use whey protein from myprotein.com

Comes in a number of flavours and quite tasty x

Sent from my iPhone using WLSurgery

I am going to use the protein works kind you can buy online. They do different flavours and pancake mix as well x

I use PhD diet whey protein. I love the taste of it made on low fat milk. I used it after my surgery to up my protein intake and still continue to use it on the days I do weight training.

a lot are saying save on buying powders and just add marvel milk powder as that contains a lot of proteins

Thanks for your replies,
Have bought sci mx protein diet powder it was on offer at the health store reduced from £44.99-£24.99

What about body by vi guys would this be any good? Thinking of adding it to a smoothie today to give me sonething more substantial

The Protein Works, has some great tasting protein. Works out about 100cals per 20g of protein. Good value too.

I use On 100% Whey Protein (Amazon) 24g of protein per serving and 1g of Fat and Sugar. The taste is fine and they have a big range of flavours, but it's a very personal thing.

Will check out The Protein Works too. The Holy Grail for me is to find a good non-flavoured flavoured one for baking with so I can start experimenting in the kitchen. .:D

Got some Met rx Rtd 55 which my dietician told me about it has 55g of protein per serving and is 250cals 1g of fat and 10g of carbs, and it actually tastes not to bad.

i got 10 samples forget where from remind me and will share a link they was £5.99 and 10 different flavours think im too soon post op to risk a try yet

I like my protein, they provide a good fast service and much cheaper than high street providers. There natural flavour is good for throwing in soup, tomato sauces etc and I can't really taste it.

Really struggling now with the milk based ones, wish I could get a juice based one.
Have found some but can only get them in the US :-(

Could you buy the unflavoured one that I buy and put it in regular food and not shakes? I put a scoop (20g of protein in one 75g scoop) in a can of soup and don't really notice it.

Am going to have a look at that now. Thanks x
