Any post sleevers out there with any ideas on things i could have during this stage all i can think of is mash but i am wondering do i need to mince up some chicken or sumthing to go with it for my protein.

I did not get much info abt this stage in my pack and my dietician is on holls so i am really stuck for advise and taught some of you lovely ppl on hear might be able to help/suggest a few ideas?

I'm a bypasser but I think the puree stages are similar, try things like stews fish pie roast dinners etc all blitzed up plenty of gravy/sauce to make it nice and slack and take it a bit at a time :)

I had broccoli with cheese melted through it tonight

I love corned beef with beans using tinned tomatoes to blend

I whiz zed up slow cooked chicken with broccoli leek and celery using the stick I cooked it all in. Yum yum

Tinned stewed steak in gravy is yummy pureed with mash. You can do a swede and carrot puree as a change from potato. Also mince in bolognese sauce is nice pureed x

Chunky soups whizzed up, mash with tuna and mushy peas blended, baked beans mashed with a fork and melted cheese, scrambled egg, mashed banana, danio strained yoghurt, sloppy bolognese without the spaghetti, custard, protein shakes, homemade fruit smoothies with protein powder, refried beans, low fat pate with crackers (allowed from second week puree) hummus with avocado, frozen fish pies - £1 at supermarket and high protein, inside of fish cakes...

I really struggled with puree stage as I was also undiagnosed with lactose intolerance so spent most of it trying to have loads of milky blended things and throwing them all up :-( the most delicious things I managed were the frozen fish pies and this amazing soup from M&S which was chicken, mushroom and rice. I blended it up and it was so delicious!

I must admit, by the end of purees even my cat's food smelt delicious, good luck!

I have been having lil bits of shepards pie, spag boll, quorn.... ( im talking about 3 teaspoons full now lol) low fat yoghurt, cracker and low fat cheese triangle... i am more advanced than i should be at this stage i think but im following my body and iv been totally fine so far. I hope i havent been doing damage i have chewed everything to a pulp and stopped once i got that "thats enough now feeling" wonder has anybody else progressed to move forward a lil sooner than the rules.

Sam that's brilliant. I am only three weeks out and am on soft food. I didn't get advice from my provider as the dietitian is on maternity leave lol

The only advice was from my surgeon who said master a couple of days I could eat anything that would slide off a spoon. So after a few days liquid, I went on to purée for two weeks and started on soft food on Wednesday

Good luck girl x

Thanks for the great ideas. My op is on Friday and I am dreading puree stage but these ideas sound a lot better than what I first thought. x

I struggled with the puree stage, It was just not appetizing for me so my dietitian said to try soft foods now so thats what I am gonna do. I am currently doing a shepherds pie so that should be okay with loads of gravy to soften it up
