Confused about liquid diet

My surgery date for a sleeve is the 21 October. At the pre op on Friday I was given the post op diet sheet.
I am confused already.
The sheet say form day 3 to the end of week 3 liquids only which could include " homemade soups e.g. Chicken or lentil or blended tinned soup."
I have purchased a Vitamix (really powerful blender which turns solids into a smooth liquid).
Can I make soup with vegetables and chicken and blend it to a smooth liquid. I thought this is what the diet sheet says.
I asked the bariatric nurse she wasn't sure.
Can you have any soup as long as it doesn't have lumps?

My post-op diet sheet for the liquid stage certainly says soup without any lumps and I intend making my own and blitzing it up with my Nutribullet.

My hospital diet sheet I got discharged with us different from my providers sheet. Hospital says 2 weeks liquid, 2 puree then 2 mushy. Providers says 1 week liquid, 3 puree and 2 crispy/mushy. Confusing!

Protein in liquid form. Well whey isolate protein powder is the highest protein. I had a banoffee flavoured shake using it for my lunch. Soup - a bit of protein to be had in chicken soup. Greek Total yoghurt - mix a spoon up in some milk till runny; it's the highest protein yoghurt in UK supermarkets.

Realistically we probably won't get the full protein quota in during liquid stage but you can get a fair bit in with the protein shakes in the mix.

I got 60g in every day, if any one wants to know how, look on my diary and my menu plans are on there. I didn't use whey but some ready made slimfast.

That is really useful Nicci, thanks!

I have been given a really good sheet of stuff but I'm only managing an actimel and a really thin diluted yoghurt at the moment. I'm still getting pains when swallowing. My sheets also said very smooth/no lumps soup - so make away! x

I had 3 weeks on liquids and was told not to worry about protein for the first three weeks but just to sip sip sip and let my sleeve heal. I sipped away in water, chocolate milk and the only soup I was allowed was the weight watchers tomato soup which is like water. Have a read of my diary if you can find it, it's "post op sleeve 2014". After the 3 weeks of liquid I moved on to 3 weeks purée and again stuck to that like glue. I've had great results so it does work. I was terrified of a leak or my staples bursting open. Good luck
