Hi all,

I am going to have my operation on the 28 January at HUH. I am not sure what am having between sleeve or gastric by-pass, my surgeon said would decide when i am on the table. I do not mind any of them coz I have done enough research on both and I have been reading some threads here for a while. I am happy with what I have been reading, so bring it on lol. can't wait to see myself slimmer in the coming months coz I hardly remember when I was slim.

I had my pre-op assessment on 30 Dec and guess what I had gained 1 1/2 stone since the last time I was weighed in October 2010. I was afraid that they were going to cancel am just keeping my finger crossed that they don't. So far I haven't got a letter or phone call about my weight gain.

Am 6 days pre-op diet, slim fast which is ok except that i am running to the toilet every few minutes. Am afraid to travel long distances just in case i need a toilet urgently becoz of running stomach

. Anyway I hope it gets better coz it's driving me mad.

I will keep you updated on my progress. Thanks for reading.

I can't believe it that in 7 days time I will be having a new stomach and starting on my journey. I feel like bag of nerves at the moment. This is it I will get there, one of these days.

You are not allowed slim fast on mr el hassanis pre op diet. I did his diet for 2 weeks and it gave me a good head start with my weight loss journey.

The protein and veg diet is seen as a lot easier than say a low calorie milkshake diet or the milk diet. I does get a bit boring and u will miss carbs but at least you are allowed to eat, if you are inventive you can do quite a lot with it. X good luck hun x

well 3 days to go i can't believe nerves are kicking in. i keep on asking myself have i done enough but i guess this is the time now or never. just have to be brave am doing this for myself first and my family. i can't keep on feeling low and miserable all the time i look into the mirror. it has to change i have to start living. this is my second chance i can't blow it. thanks for the support everybody. xx

2 days to go and i spoiled it i have been holding on quite well until today when i was making dinner for daughter and hubby. i had 5 tablespoons of minced meat can you imagine. how could i am i mad or big pig. i feel so bad. thanks for he support tho.

South Staffs PCT BMI-45.2 30.12.11 - saw doctor and asked for referral for Bariatric Surgery. 13.1.12 - chased up referral, refused weight management as BMI not 45+ 17.1.12 - saw doc, read letter of refusal, bloods requested, new weight/height to be measured 18.1.12 - bloods for trh/diabetes,cholesterol etc....awaiting results BMI now 44.9 (still not 45) 2.2.12 - next appointment with nurse, get results of bloods and check weight again....will i have a BMI of 45???? 2.2.12 - BMI now 45.2, referral being put in, but do i want or am i ready for surgery? confused.com! 6.2.12 - 2nd referral sent to Heartlands (weight management) will i be accepted this time? 1.3.12 - accepted onto weight management...need to book appointment 5.3.12 - appointment at weight management 3.5.12 Diet - SLIMMM WK1 -11lbs WK2 - STS (not suprised after last wk!)
