hi hun

it does get better honest!

drink lots of water that helped me.

other than that, use this time to prepare for your next step, pack your hospital bag, make a list of things you want to do when you've lost weight, start exercising in preparation. Anything that reminds you why you are doing this and that it will all be worth it in the end.

good luck!! X

By day 4 you will forget hunger, concentrate on preparing for hospital & post op to occupy yourself & maybe a quiet word in your hubbys ear regarding tact & support??

On the plus side its all in your favour, the easier the op & recovery & you will be better prepared for your new sleeved life :)

Best of luck xx

I had a sleeve on 22nd May & absolutely love it!!

I read everything I could on here beforehand so was prepared for most post op "problems" like trapped wind & never experienced any of it except nausea the first day, I couldnt even hold down a sip of water, by day 2 I was fine though & came home.

I took all but the kitchen sink in my bag (as you do) & only used my washbag, towel, slippers & phone charger :8855:

I didnt even bother with my new PJs I stayed in the hospital robe & couldnt use a dressing gown with a drip in my arm.

What op are you going for?

ps: be prepared to go through every emotion possible in the days leading up to your op (it is normal)

Had you to do just 2 weeks pre op diet or longer i know some sugeons want a month depending on your case ..... i suppose.
I am bmi 48 +/- 21and a half stone hope with this diet to be in to the 20's before d op...... im 32 and my main motivation for it is babies plus d usuall stuff we all strugggle with ..... depession bad health low self esteem ........ i dont want to have a baby in this condition i really wana try and be as healthy as i can for myself my husband (who has no great life coz of all my crap...) and any future babies we might be blessed with.

Thats my story now girlies im sure its not alot different to everybody else coz we are all in the same boat .....

Im having my op at the yorkshire clinic in west yorkshire. My weight goes up and down, im a yo yo dieter! Ive put several stones on over the past few years and am quickly heading back up to my heaviest weight which was 14st. I was worrying that at this stage in life, 35, i might not stop at 14st but that it would go higher, and higher!
Ive decided the sleeve will be atool to prevent me from this yo yo ing.
Im a big binge eater, i can eat little for a few days then buy loads of food and stuff it down. I eat huge portions and am just greedy. I dont want to be overweight, i dont want health problems and im fed up of been unfit and unhealthy.
Since starting on this site a few ladies, kursty and sharon, have been really good and ive been motivated by them to motivate myself. Ive lost 9lbs in under 2 weeks.
Im on the food diet, its ok, to be honest i would prefer the slimfast diet as i can manage that better at work. But hey im making the food diet work!! I feel fine but then again i have previously lost alot of weight and sustained it for several years by eating almost nothing.
We are all different though! At least we can count down together.
Are you having yours in ireland ?

Good luck with your journey, it certainly isn't easy but you get a lot of support on this site as Kar said!! :) xx as a pre opper I know how difficult it is and although I don't have as much experience I will always try share what's working well for me in case it helps others!!

I started using a fitbit, which tracks ur steps and links to my fitness pal which means I track what I'm walking and eating and both are invaluable, I like tracking food as it can be easy to think not had much, then check your cal/protein and think I have ! Or see what extras u need !!!

I'm moving to liquid only tomorrow before my op next Saturday, so I'm bit nervous, but I'm gonna do it as I can see where I want to be, like you kids and babies etc as I'm only 34 and want to be healthy if can before kids! Xx
