Billie's Diary. Good Things Come To Those Who Wait?

Hello everybody.

I thought I would start a diary for a few reasons

To write down my feelings through the process
To maybe help people along their journey

So my story

My names Billie :wavey:
I'm 23
I live in Essex
I work with children
I live with my fiance of 7 years.
Weight 23 stone 7 lbs. Height 5 foot 11. Size 24

So my lifetime battle with my weight brings me here.
The last time I remember being not over weight was when I was 16 I was a happy size 14-16.

Over the years there has been many things that I believe have contributed to my weight gain. Passing my driving test, getting lazy, moving out, getting comfortable with partner etc.

I suffer with depression which I also believe contributed to weight gain.

SO back to here and now. Only look forward !!
After trying every diet known to man I have come to the conclusion that i need some help.

Timeline so far

April 2014, I went to the doctor and asked for a gastric band
May 2014, Doctor wanted me to see a dietitian
June 2014, Saw dietitian went back to docs
July 2014, After a lot of phone calls to doctor ans PCT trying to find out the correct information it was found out I needed to do the tier 3 weight management program first.
August 2014 Doc send referral for weight management tier 3

September 2014.

I had a email from more life (company who provides the tier 3) on tuesday with a link that took me to their site with some questions to answer.
On Thursday I had a phone assessment and she rang me back 10 mins later and said she has a program starting MONDAY !!!

So I start tier 3 this Monday YAY !!

Its every monday for 14 weeks then a few months after,

I will write in this diary every week and tell you all what its like, so anyone else waiting to start it will know what its all about !!

Sorry if I bore anyone lol

Awkward moment alert.

I just went to meet a family I'm going to be doing some babysitting for.

The 4 year old girl looked at me pointed at my belly and asked me where my baby is.

CRINGE !!!!

Hello Billie
good luck and like crystal said keeping a daily diary is a great tool I do one every day and I find it a great help

Hi guys
Been to my tier 3 this morning
It was really good.
Mostly like things I've done before so going to be a long 6 months.
But I've got to do it before they would accept me for the band so hey ho. !

Xx

I started on the tier three last year in September,in march 2014 I finished it, lost 24lbs,
They recommend I could loose weight on my own, I was devastated, since the birth of my youngest son 15 years ago, I've been struggling ,diets pills work to get 2 stone off then it goes back on,
I'm a emotional eater,
My doctor recommend me back, to cut a long story short, I'm having my mini gastric bypass next Thursday 25th,
On my liver shrinkage diet at the moment. Hard work ,

That's great news your having it soon xx

Hi Billie . Good to know that you are moving forward .... Two weeks on Friday for me!!! So how long was the appointment and what was it like????

Hi When he referred you back did you have to complete the program again ? That's great news your having it soon xx
No I didn't have to as had just completed it 6 weeks before, it's your own GP who had the final say at the end of the day I think for referral .

Wishing you all the luck in the world hope I hear about my tier 3 soon x

Going around a friends for a Chinese tonight
Eek gotta work it off before more life Monday !

Hi
It was bloody lovely haha
It was like a group 12 people, went in got a folder thing with loads info in etc.
Got weighed went through what the course will entail
It's every week on Mondays for 14 weeks.
I'm not 100% sure what it will be like but will post on here every week to let you all know.
X

It's hard to wait around for something you know might never happen; but it's even harder to give up when you know its everything you want

A well fitted quote !

Hi Billie ...... Glad you enjoyed the Chinese..... A girl got to treat her self!!! Do yo think you will benefit from the weekly meetings??? And is it at a convenient place and time?? I'm itching to find out what mine is going to be like. Mine is a week on Friday at 10 o'clock..... Which is a pain as I only work till 12:30 on a Friday. But hey ho!! Just hope it is not going to be that time always..... The good thing that it is held at my doctors surgery which isn't far. Need to find out if it is the three tier Jobbie .... Going to be well miffed if it isn't !! So what you got to do over the fourteen weeks....... And what happens after that???

Sorry lots of questions but I have wanted to lose this hideous weight for a long long time but just never had the confidence to do anything about it !! After actually doing something about it I want to find out as much as I can!!! xx

Hi
My tier 3 is the same day and time each week Monday's 10-11.30.
Today was ok but the dietitian who was there had a dig at people who have surgery and I could feel my blood boiling !!

I don't think it's going to help but I've gotta do it.
Just feels like a waste of time.

Hope I get the surgery at the end of it.

X

Hi Billie

I hope it wasn't to painful for you at today's appointment... I think you have to grin and bear the snide comments!! Have they given you a diet to follow and some ground rules?? What happens at the end of the 14 weeks........ Will you get referred to the hospital or is it to early to be asking those questions??

I have spent ages searching the internet trying to find information on how it is done in my area - Cheshire. My appointment is with the Weight Management Team and I found the following........

"The weight management team provides both hospital and community based clinics to assist patients in achieving weight reduction and weight maintenance, prior to bariatric surgery."

I'm really pleased at finding that !!! Hopefully I am going in the right direction. The doctors have a record of all the times that I have been back to them for help. When I went in to fill out the questionnaire the doctor showed me on the screen a graph of my weight over the last twenty years...... And it goes up and down and up and down ..... Shows that I can lose the weight but can't keep it off..... Hopefully this weight management team will have access to that information...... It has to work in my favour!!

Keep you chin up x
