Jamie Oliver does many mock-way recipes that are a pretty good substitute. Check out online? I have most of his recent books and the curry my other halves loves. No extra fat and full of veggies you'd never know.

Although I'm not a fan of regular kebabs, if hubby wanted one, I'd have a chicken shish with salad and leave the pitta. So basically it's just chicken and salad, but I never felt as if I was missing out.

Good luck with the rice, almost 11 months out and I can't tolerate rice.

hi butterfly i do but i know how calorific it can be love it. Please send it x

Marinade some chicken (or whatever meat/quorn) in a small tub of low fat yogurt with a tablespoon of tikka spices (I do extra to have with a salad) leave for a few hours but over night is better

in a large pan add a large chopped onion, 3 cloves of garlic and a 2" piece of chopped ginger, add a few tablespoons of water and cook until the onion is soft

Add a box of pasatta, teaspoon cumin teaspoon turmeric teaspoon gara masala, salt & pepper to taste, blitz in a blender give it a taste as this version is pretty mild if you want it hotter add some chilli powder

remove the chicken from the yog scraping as much of the yog back into the bowl, grill/bake the chicken until cooked

Pop as much chicken as required into the pan add the blitzed sauce and warm thru, take the sauce off the heat and add the yog stirring until its all combined.
I find it freezes ok too
