Hi ladies

Quick question I've just had a call and been told ilI will need to do pre op diet for 4 weeks.....don't really know much about it but like to know who has done pre op for 4 weeks....how it went what option you chose and roughly how muh weight did u loose

I was also on the 4 week pre-op.

I went with the slim-Fast as it was the easiest in terms of both variety and not having to weigh stuff.

From the start of the pre-op to the day of my op I lost 8.1kg or 1st 4lbs.

I did cheat, but both times I felt very guilty. The first time was about 3 weeks pre-op when my son walked past me with his plate of fish and chips and I quickly snaked a chip of his plate. The second time was about two weeks pre-op when I ate 5 Pringles crisps.

I did find the pre-op diet to be one of the most difficult things I have ever done, even more so than when I quite smoking. I guess one reason must be that you can live without cigarettes but not food. What got me through it was telling myself that this was the first and most difficult step in the journey to a new me that will be healthier, fitter, thinner, and expect to live longer.

Trust in yourself and remember that if you cheat you are only cheating yourself.

I did 4 weeks 1000 liw cal food diet I couldnt face the slim fast or milk diet not for 4 weeks!
I too did slip up 2x while on it having 1 banana to many and 2x crisp bread too many
other than that it was ok to do I needed to "eat" something and it worked for me when at work and around my family I lost around 1 stone on it
good luck in whichever LSD you choice

Hi and welcome I had five diet options to choose from. I chose the meal replacement combined. This is when you replace two meals ie breakfast and lunch with slim fast and one 300 cal meal or select from a list they give you. Unlike some i couldn't be trusted with working three meals with real food and thought this was the best for me. The others where1. REAL FOOD chose foods from a list for your day. 2. Meal replacement 3 xslimfast a day. Or combined 2x slim fast and 300cal meal, 3. 800-1000 calorie diet, 4 very low cal diet ie cambridge or lighter life 5,milk and yoghurt. Some hospitals only have one diet. I am on day 2 not to bad at mo. I asked the same question in another of my threads the feed back was it all depends on how big you are bigger you lose quicker , genetics, activity etc . The over all average loss was roughly 9ibs to a stone . Im hoping to lose at least a stone otherwise my op may be cancelled as i need to lose between 5-10% . Best wishes x
