Before your pre-op diet

Did anyone have a really good "last supper"? What did you just have to have before the pre-op diet and surgery? My friends are all saying we should go out and have one last "normal" meal - anyone else do this? :D x

I did think about having a " last supper " but because I had already reduced my food intake before doing the LSD ibhad already gotten to to eating smaller so I didn't want to undone all my good work! But I know some on here have done the final meal(s!) bit

The week before my pre-op diet started I didn't worry about what I ate, just enjoyed small portions of anything I wanted. The only thing I didn't enjoy (for the first time in my life) was the chocolate.

Now on day 4 of the pre-op diet and feeling fine

I planned to have the last supper, even down to what I was going to eat, but was given a cancellation date so only had 10 days notice for my op. The surgeon said I needed to go on the liver shrink diet immediately and stick to it 100%. I didn't want to risk the opportunity to have the cancellation appointment so I missed my last supper. On the one hand I was disappointed as I love my food (that's why I'm here!) but on the other hand I'm happy that I resisted temptation :)

I didn't but I got phoned at 5pm to say I could have £1k off the cost of my bypass if I took a cancellation in 13 days time, and I had to start the LSD the next day, I'd already planned and started to cook a chicken dinner so carried on and had that, I did however have 2 vodka and pepsi max, maybe if I'd of had more notice I *may* have had a fun funeral

Lol glad to hear you don't think it's a terrible idea though! When I made the decision to stop slimming world and choose the surgical option I just fell off the diet wagon altogether so I haven't had the experience that those on the NHS route have had. I think a big Greek meal may be in order before my pre-op diet starts X

I think those of us that self funded are really lucky we didn't have to jump through the hoops that others had to:(

I start my pre op diet Wednesday 1st October (in 3 days) I have cut down and been dieting for a few weeks now but today I haven't had any will power I've had crisps and feel like ordering a Chinese takeaway I feel I wanna pig out but I'm trying so hard not to binge on takeaway or junk food, I'm getting banded on 14th October in Dolan park and I need to lose 12lbs for my op which the consultant says I will lose sticking to the low carb pre op diet but as I've dieted early to try lose weight incase I don't lose the full 12lb on the pre op I'm just starting to panic incase they abandon my op if I don't lose the weight and shrink my liver

Thanks Anna I went on Facebook and my friend had uploaded photos of his Chinese takeaway I told him I'm blocking him hahaha my mouth was watering and I was dying for a Chinese but I was fighting the urge to order and settled for a cheese cracker and some pickled onions I will try my hardest to have will power for this low carb diet xx

Hi Lisa - I'm trying to be good now - it doesn't really make much sense bingeing then going on the pre-op diet - it will just be such a shock to me. I am going out for a curry with friends on Wednesday but apart from that I think it's time to get my head in gear!

Good luck with it - I'll be on that diet with you soon :) x

Hi Ohtobeslinky
I'm gonna stick to it no bingeing as I get weighed tomorrow and I wanna stick with what I've lost and not gain I know I've lost by my clothes but I don't know how much also with my pre op diet I should lose so it will be worth the diet in the long run!

My pre-op diet starts on 15th October. I am trying not to be too naughty but it's awfully tempting to!
