Band to bypass conversion

hi all ..... It's been a long time since I have visited here but I really need some advice. I had a band 5 years ago and managed to lose 10 stone - I feel my band has done all it can for me now and I really want to lose another 5/6 stone to be where I want to be.
I am one click away from having a conversion done by James halstead via Ramsey healthcare. Any success stories about the surgery, surgeon or company??

Please help as I'm a bit lost

Xx

Hi Donna

Nice to see you back!

I've moved your thread the revision surgery section. Hopefully then, people who can offer you some advice/support will come along x

Oh, just had a thought, who did your band? maybe your GP could refer you back to them to consider you for a revision.

Hi Donna, I am having a revision, but the other way around! Bypass first, now a band over the top! I actually went to my original surgeon (he was nhs), and have gone private with him.

Thank you for your replies :)

I had my band done privately and my surgeon will only do a banded bypass or take the band out - wait 3 months and then do the bypass ...... Total cost £15,000

Ramsey healthcare will do it all in one op but I have to travel 4 hours away to a more experienced surgeon

It's all booked for the 4th of November ....... More than a little bit scared!

mr halstead is taking my band out and doing a bypass in one opp? so cannot understand why you would need 2 opps maybe a company thing chick.

Hi becky

I don't think I was very clear ...... My original surgeon would only do it in two ops - that's why I have gone with Mr halstead as he is doing it in one go - tomorrow in fact

The hospital group told me they would only do a banded bypass ....... That's why I had to look elsewhere

When are you having yours done?? X
