I was refused nhs cuz i dont have any health problems. I think it does vary from area to area. At least going private i didn't have to wait a long time

My GP said 2 years of weight management. I couldn't wait that long so went private. Besides being obese I was pretty healthy.

Hey yep, PCOS wasnt considered and I was refused once because of my general good health. My doc appealed and I was accepted. Keep pushing, there are many hoops to jump through for nhs treatment :)

I didn't have any co morbidities but my BMI was over 50 which qualifies in this part of Lincolnshire

It's all confusing , at what point do they tell you you don't qualify ? I would hate to go through all the process just to be told no and there never was a chance

Thanks Hun for that , maybe I have a chance then too x

I think it's very dependent on your bmi hun. Most trusts insist on 50+ BUT....anyone with co morbidities usually take preference if you are in good health, within the trust.

I did :( 18 months of tier 3 only to be refused at the end!! I was 23 years old with a BMI of 53.
You need to have patience, focus and a doctor that is willing to fight for you xXx

Hi, My BMI was over 50 with no other illness and I was accepted with no qualms. But the whole process did take 1 year from first initial appointment at docs x good luck

Hi

This was similar to my case in South London but the whole process took just roughly two years.
