I've been given a provisional date by my biatric's team via phone of the 27th November, just waiting for the letters to come through.

I told one of my friends this morning and was going through all the things I've avoided for years and years that il finally be able to do. Even simple things that a lot of people take for granted.

Going shopping with my friends - being 28 and a size 28/30 the only high street shop I can go to is either yoursclothing or Evans. I've always avoided going shopping with friends as we would end up going go 10+ shops and spend hours in shops all of which I've never been able to buy anything

Theme Parks - years spent not being paranoid about being able to fit into rides

Planes - being able to fit comfortably into a seat without having to ask (quietly) for an extender belt

Those are just a handful of things,

But thinking about the end result has both inspired and kick started me again to lose more weight before my surgery.

I'm literally writing a list of things I'm going that i will be able to do once I'm smaller.

Did any one else do a similar thing? Or planning to?

I cant wait to:

sleep on my tummy!
not worry about sitting on kids chairs at school!
go clothes shopping, especially for trousers as I have lived in stretchy leggings for 3 years!
not worry about where a restaurant will sit us in case i don't fit!
not worry about taking a lift from someone and their seat belts not fitting!
cross my legs when sitting!
sitting without my legs going to sleep/pins and needles!
sleeping through the night without worrying about chest pains or heartrate!

ooh long long list I hope my wait isn't too long, although reading all the threads on here is making me want to start a major weight loss push now and try to keep it going till i get my date!

Good luck!

The restaurant thing is on my list as well. Always looking at how strong chairs are, the space between the chair and table. The space between where I'm sitting and other tables. Looking at the path to the table and how I will manoeuvre myself like the blocks on krypton factor. I really can't wait for those thoughts so be a distance smile of what once was and where I would be then.

I also have had that in cars, mainly ones in older cars.my friends telling me to hold the seat belt across my chest if it doesn't fit.

Although there all a hindrance now, they are also motivation!! Keep on pushing!!

the down side to theme parks is being forced to get on all rides lol

i went with my daughter recently and since i now fit she made me get on everything, felt sick as a dog later as ive not done it in a decade. bloody worth it thou for the memorys

i drive a motability car, have to change it every 3 years. in the past ive had to choose a car based on if i can fit behind the steering wheel. this time i was able to choose a car based on everything but that

a recent one for me and its daft but falling asleep half laid on someone and not have them loose the feeling in their limbs cos my weights crushing them lol

being able to go in the gym without worried on lookers asking if im ok, if i need to sit down every few minutes

shopping anywhere but evans and yours. im loving sainsburys for leggings and cardigans, love bhs for dresses and i can now buy bra's in tesco and asda! and so cheap in comparison. i bought a 38G in asda yesterday for £8. a similar one from a catalouge in a 44F a few months ago cost me £39.99

I have posted about all sorts of things that nobody else would understand. Crossing fingers, crossing legs. My latest 'thing' is my body and feet aching because I've walked and climbed and kayaked and canoed etc etc NOT because of my weight

I am going to write a very long list of all the things that I can't do due to my weight. I haven't applied for funding yet as I have only just been referred by my gp and I'm not entirely sure where it goes from here. I hope to be able to include my list in my application along with a letter explaining my reasons for applying etc.

Looking at other people's lists is a good help to remember things to add to the list. There are so many things it's impossible to remember them all.

Best of luck to you and everyone else on here xx

Im wearing high heels today that I bought in a normal shop insted of wide fit boats from evans

For my Psychologist appointment I wrote a list of things I wanted to do once I lost weight. Having been 'bigger' all my life, I've never really known being small or being able to shop in so called normal size shops, to me normal has always been large clothing sizes even as a child.

My list:
1. Being able to walk up a flight of stairs without being out of breath.
2. Have a shorter hairstyle when my face 'thins' out .
3. Get down to a healthy BMI
4. Walk into a shop like Peacocks and be able to buy off the shelf clothing.
5. Be able to wear boots/Rocket dog style.
6. Wear white clothing (I only wear dark to cover up so to speak)
7. Go Swimming again - (*I am off on holiday next week, bought a costume/swimdress from Australia to wear to cover horrible thighs so being very brave)
8. Achieve goals that I have set myself over the years such as do a parachute jump for charity and walk up Snowdonia.
9. Walk into a room and feel one of the crowd, not stared at due to my size.
10. Be brave enough to go to a nightclub. 24 and have never been as too scared to go due to size.
11. Go on a long haul flight abroad somewhere, maybe even somewhere hot as I hate hot weather at the minute.
12. Stop making excuses to go somewhere on a social basis - e.g. go for a walk as I get to easily puffed out.
13. Have children at some point.
14. Ride a rollarcoaster - I've avoided it for years - I want to visit my local theme park (small one called Flambards) and ride the hornet and not worry the bars won't fit.
15. I want to walk into the supermarket and not have people judge me on what I buy. I feel that even though I buy healthy foods, people are still judging, the best one was today when a rather rude person came up to me in Morrison's while shopping in the salad section, and said to me, 'On a diet are you? Good job too'. So I want to be part of the crowd and not stand out. It's a good job I have a witty attititude as I was able to point out the large pack of Carlsberg and respond with 'liquid lunch again for you?'. Oh the piddled off look on his face. :)

If I ever get funding, I'm looking forward to just doing everyday things like hoovering and not being out of breath or exhausted.

Walking into any clothes shop and being able to pull my size off the rail.

Having an item of clothing in my basket/trolley and not having to fold it over as I'm embarrassed about the size on the tag/hanger.

Being a proper mummy to my son...no more "no I can't take you on the go carts cos I'm too big" or "no mummy doesn't want to go on the swings with you, I'll just push" (when in reality it's cos my bum won't fit) or even I'd love to skip home with you from nursery son but my ankles are killing so I'll just bring the car instead"

And THE most important thing I'm looking forward to is knowing I'll be around to watch my 3yr old son grow into a tall strapping 33yr old man (and older) That is my main focus for all this, the rest are just a bonus! It kills me everyday knowing how selfish I am for letting myself get to this stage when I'm a single mum to an amazing boy. I'm praying I get a different decision this time and they say yes x

Things I am looking forward to:

Wearing nice floral strappy dresses

Not having to look at the chairs in a restaurant before being able to say whether we can have a meal there

Flying to Australia next August to see my sister and her family feeling comfy and not having to take half of somebody else's seat (usually my poor long suffering husband)

Seeing my sister's face when she sees me slim

Having lots of choices of where to buy clothing (in Asda, Tesco, Saintsbury, etc)

Hi all - my first proper post :)

It's funny and nice to know that others feel the same about these things...

Things I'm looking forward to are:

1. Not thinking about if I can fit into a seat/chair. Especially ones with arms.
2. If I do fit, wondering if it will break.
3. Eating out without thinking the world is watching and judging.
4. Shopping in normal shops!
5. Going to concerts/events without worrying about squeezing through gaps in the crowd. And not having to use the wheelchair entrance as you can't fit through the barriers.
6. Sitting in friends cars and not worrying about the seatbelt fitting.
7. Ditto for planes!
8. Having more energy and actually wanting to do things.
9. Theme parks!
10. Going to the theatre/cinema on my own and not worrying about if I'm going to 'overlap' onto a stranger.
11. Not thinking that if someone looks at you, they are judging you - they're probably not, but you assume they are!

I'm sure there's more... :)
