hi everyone the pre op went ok got to be there 7 mon morn doing the horrible diet and it is killing me i havent eaten much over xmas period but now i cant eat what i want i am really craving everything but at least i am only doing it for couple of days and not having to do it for 2 weeks like most of you had to do i dont know how you coped with it a couple of questions for those who have had it done what should i take in with me and could your husband or partners stay with you till you went down to theatre and come to see you as soon as you come back
 alison

Hi Alison, I did not need to do the diet as I only had a few days notice I just ate healthy but I can imagine as soon as someone says "you cant have that" you would want it, its human nature but not long to go. My best mate came with me and she was able to stay as long as she wanted. I was in a private hospital paid by the NHS so I would imagine its the same elsewhere there are a few on here that have been "done" at Hope though and I am sure they said family stayed with them too....good luck chick its a brill start to the new year and in a few months you will get such a buzz at how you feel. The feeling inside is like you have been given something really special (well thats what it feels like for me lol)..xx

Hi hun.I hated that pre-op diet too but I dropped a bunch of weight so try not to frett. I had my op at Hope, and I detailed my experiences here:

My hubby was only able to drop me off since I was first for surgery and they took me to get ready almost as soon as I walked in. He wasn't able to return until visiting hours but I hardly noticed since mostly you want to sleep after surgery. Oh, and don't wear toe polish, they will probably have you remove it!

Best of luck my dear and I am glad your day is almost here!

Nichole;)
