OMG! I am so not impressed!

Got in from work about 3 hours ago feeling great.... then i opened the letter from WM telling me that the appt i have on Dec 4th is being cancelled and rebooked for, wait for it, wait for it, the 5th of bleeding February... That is the next available appointment! Am going to keep ringing for cancellations and hope that it will happen and i wont wait till Feb for my second appt!

Heck we want to book a week in the sun for July next year i was hoping to go a few stone lighter, may still be going wobbly by the look of it grrrrrr..

On a lighter note the world is not coming to an end, i have a job, my kids are healthy... but still grrrrr

poor you news like that makes all the positives pale into insignificance hope you get a cancelation
 
Oh hun wat a pee take, fingers crossed for ya that joe blogs cancels for the 6th dec and u get his app, def ring every day as u never know when someone will cal just mins b4 u and cancel xxxx
 
Oh hun that sucks. Keep on bugging them for cancellations!! Hopefully they'll get so sick of it that they'll find you a cancellation!!!

So sorry Julie as others have said keep ringing for a cancellation, Leslie did say to me that they were cancelling alot of appointments as the weight loss team are moaning as each clinic is supposed to have 10 appointments but they have been putting 17 appointments in each clinic. If you have had a letter then I may also get one I to will be so upset if I have to wait that long.
 
If you had seen the state of Poor Mrs Heitman the other day you would understand why appointments are being cancelled. She had been taking clinics since 9am, it was gone 6.30pm when I saw her (my appointment was for 4.10pm) and she still had another clinic to do. On top of that Amy the clinic nurse had also done three clinics and was well over two hours late for her evening clinic.

I know saying that doesn't make you feel any better and sometimes I feel that WM are taking on a lot more then they can cope with which in the long run isn't fair to their patients because its people like you that are being let down.

It only takes a handful of patients to have some post op problems and thats their clinics turned upside down. Thankfully according to Amy they are starting another clinic shortly so things might perk up.

I hope that you manage to get a cancellation soon.
 
Bonita, i was told by admin that clinics have been triple over booked. Also by Lesley that Ms Heitman does not do clinics. Only Mr Hartland does clinics according to Lesley. Am so hoping i get a cancellation, but feel sorry for others who are getting cancelled too.

My query is that if they are cancelling clinics then how long before they start putting operations back? Will look forward to Walsall meet hopefully we might get told something then....
 
i had my first appointment in april was told id be seen before september my appointment is christmas eve lol but waiting to hear back if i can be seen sooner, i ring twice a day for a cancelation but with only one clinc before december its unlikley ill get one x fingers crossed for you, iv booked a hol for june next year hoping i might have had a few stone off wish id have waited now x

I do know what you mean

Not only do you have to put your own life on hold, but that of your family's life too.

No holidays for us at all this year...it's looking doubtful for next year too.

Keep trying for those cancellations....I have been lucky so far with those.

I don't think Lesley is being entirely truthfull with you there hun, but I'm not surprised. Lynn and I both saw and spoke at length to Mrs Heitman in the clinic last Fri, I don't think she has a double...lol I have attended the dressings clinic a couple of times only to be told they have no dressings and have I brought my own, thats Walsall Manor for you (those appointments are made by lesley too by the way).

All this is because they are running around like headless chickens trying to get things sorted for the new hospital.

Just keep on at them.
 
The road is long, but it does come to an end............ Just wonder why they are so stupid as to triple book. Also they should keep a list of patients who's clinics get cancelled so they can be offered any cancelled appointments that come up! We all know ringing for cancellations is all about luck and timing.......

Still what do i know, i only managed the appointment system in the community physio dept for one of the biggest pct's in Birmingham....

Today is gonna be a better day :)
 
so unfair they dont see us as people just numbers and thats the sad bit. I would keep phoning till they get so sick of you they give you a cancellation. It is worrying how many wls patients there are now compared with even a year ago and this has to have an impact on operations. They need to get more staff trained to do more weight management etc... the number of nurses you see on a ward stood around and then in different more specialised departments they are short staffed.
I really hope you get a sooner appointment xxxxx
