HI All, I am new and have not got enough credit things to look in the 'sub forum' was wondering how safe it is to get pregnant with a band fitted? Read that babies can have low birth weights. Also, I would have the band in 6 months before pregnancy.
Hi. I had my band for 4 years before I had my second child. I lost 12 stone. She wasn't low birth weight, she was 7lb 2 and three weeks early.
Unfortunately my band appeared to slip at end of pregnancy which is uncommon. Now having band removed and by pass surgery on 18:7. My surgeon had advised waiting a year after having band fitted but I know people that fell pregnant before the year and they are grand. Hope all goes well x
