Afternoon all:).

I finally spoke to 'Kirsten' the specialist Nusrse regarding my appointment query. She called me back after I left her a garbaled message.

Just like Brett said and some other members who are also under the whittington (sorry cannot remeber who you were:eek:) She was so so nice, she told me to come to the second appointment venue which is the 3 hr group session. she told me where to go what it will be like.
I told her about my disability and asked her would it be ok if I stood up or moved about due to pain etc she said that would be fine.
We were then chatting in genral and I said how excited I was and I hope when I see the consultant I would be excepted for surgery, she said I'm sure you will be, so that gave me a huge boost, so please, please I ask you all to keep fingers toes and whatever else you can for me please;).
I told Kirsten she was well liked on a forum and also quite famous, she asked why; and when I told her I could sense she was probably blushing but very flattered :D..

So now I must wait for this first all important step to come and then I hope I will be like lots of you here waiting for my surgery date:) again fingers crossed, touch wood ect :D..
Hugs and thank you all for being here for me...xxx

fab ... yea she is great and a good laugh too .. she isn't like any clinical person i know .. very down to earth and helpful. and she says whats she thinks .... and is a fantastic part of the support group i have dealt with her all the way through the process of my journey to wls...

you will be fine at the group session they let u have a break and u can move as much as u like .. we laughed all the way through mine. it was good fun and its nice to laugh with people who are going through the same as you. and not to have it all serious.

u should also try making it along to the support groups as i said before i know u have pain and hard to walk etc ... but it makes u feel apart of it and in the loop as u get to know people and Kirsten and other staff .. and faces to names etc ..

xx

Im a Whittington person and having read many of these posts over the last month or so, Ive come to the conclusion that its the best place to be - remember its a whole department geared especially to obese people day in and day out so they know what they are doing. The Clinical lead attends support groups and takes notes on people's suggestions and then actions them to make the whole treatment experience better. My surgery is tomorrow and Im sure Im in the best hands - you are in the right place!

Thanks for giving me such good advice..
Mazza, I can't wait untill I hopefully get a date for the next stage, I will be patient.
Mazza are you having your band done at the whittington?
Brett I told her I knew you and she said yes she knew of you too;) so like you all have said its nice knowing faces and staff.
I have to go to hospital every 3 weeks and like yourselfs at the whittington I have got to know all the staff there I have been going for more than 10 yrs, only thing is I get a bed to lay on in my appointments has its the pain clinic and they know I cannot sit for long without horendous pain:(.
Kirsten gave me her mobile so I can contact her if need be so I was pleased with that.
I can't wait to be part of the whittington group:gen126::gen126:..

Caroline, the best of luck to you. :bestwishes:
Like Brett said please if and when you can please give us a step by step diary of your whittington journey x
Hugs xx
