Hi
Before i start there are many on here whose comments are not welcome, those
people know who they are, especially those who know it all and whose comments are not helpful, if you do choose to comment keep it nice or do not bother,

I am now 5 weeks post op RNY, bypass, i have lost 4 and half stone already
from a max of 6 stone to lose, surgeon very concerned to the point that he is emailing me a couple of times a week,
I am now a very angry person something that i was not before, its not the food
or anything associated with food, my personality has now got me in trouble a few times since surgery, does not matter who the person is, for instance id jump out of my car and in a jam and confront someone very nastily for just as much as looking at me,
I find it impossible to even try and eat a ,meal, ive had endoscopys etc, which then found some lumps on my vocal cords, so now having to be referred to ent for these to be sorted,
really wish that i had not bothered in the first place,
any one else having issues such as mine ? surgeon will reverse the procedure very soon he has promised,
helpful comments only please,

Thankyou

So sorry to read of your problems your having I can only hope it can be overcome and overcome soon

4.5stone in five weeks? I didn't realise that was possible. This is very concerning it shows your body is in a state of starvation rather than just malnutrition.

Are you dumping every meal? What can/can't you eat?

I can fully understand why your surgeon in concerned. What has he suggested? I would imagine IV feeding is something being considered to stabilise you but it's horrible if for more than a few days.

My thoughts are with you. Keep us updated. Willing to help and advise in any way I can.

That weight loss weight is so severe Consie - when you last posted and it was 2 stone, i remember thinking that must have a very debilitating impact. But now it's far worse. Are you able to work/function or are you now just counting days to you revision. More worryingly are the changes to your personality. Does your team think that's going to resolve once the revision to pre bypass state has taken place? Good luck.

Just a thought I think this has ended up in the sleeve section and I am thinking you mentioned your op was a bypass (which I guess it has to be as your going for reversal and can't reverse a sleeve) ?

It does say RNY in the opening post so I presume it's just in the wrong forum. Not to worry, what's important is giving the best support we can.

Oh my!.... I do hope your surgeon resolves this for you soon!.... It doesn't say if you male or female but for Women ( maybe guys also) some personality changes can be due to MASSIVE and sudden drops in oestrogen!... We store Oestrogen in fat cells so we lose it rapidly with the weight, it can be like becoming menopausal over night. This might explain some of the angry issues your experiencing!.... The solution is to have short term hormone replacement patches until your body adjusts..... Sorry that's the only advice I can offer and re weight loss hopefully the surgeon will shorten or reverse the bypass to arrest / slow it down....... Wishing all the best!

Oh dear you poor thing that sound so worrying and exhausting , I'm not surprised that sugeon emailing you all the time . Or that you are having changed in your mood . Losing weight that quickly will effect your thought and feelings . Just a quick thought that popped into my mind might be rubbish but have your team consider referring you urgently to an gastic Dr who specialises in nutrition I can remember their proper name . when I was 10 month out I had appendectomy and lost 10 pound in a week and that scared me . . I think it endocrinologist ?!!! But not sure . Only I did meet a woman who lost weight too quickly ( not as fast as you ) and she needed to see one as it was impacting on her she started to lose sensation in her legs , and difficulties in thinking , she had a nasal tube feed for a few months x I be think of you

CONSIE70 - how are you getting on? Any update?
