It Hasn't Worked

4 months today since I got banded. 7ml at the moment but I have lost... Nothing. I actually weigh a pound more today than I did when I went in for the op. I'm gutted. Truly thought this would help. I just feel no difference in hunger levels or fullness. So devastated that I spent all this money on something that has made absolutely no difference.

You need to get back in touch with your team to discuss this.

A review of your diet etc may help.

Good luck xx

7ml in what size band?

Four months isn't actually very long, it may be that you need more fills to find restriction.

It would also help if you still follow 20/20/20 - other members have done that and managed to still lose weight without restriction. I'm not saying it's easy, but it's worth a go.

And definitely speak to your team and get this tool working for you.

Good luck x

Definitely speak to your team. I'm 7 months banded & have lost over 5 stone. Although i put 80+% down to my hard work the band has undoubtably had a huge effect & you should really be noticing a difference.
Maybe post a typical days food & drink intake & we'll see if we can give you any tips on how to get your band to work better for you.

I agree its early days to say its not worked.............. the band working relies on getting restriction, which could take several fill to get there. But by following the 'rules' alone it should make a difference :) i had my band fitted in feb, almost 6 months, so far my band is still empty and am relying on following the rules to get my losses :) which is almost 6 stone down (including pre op)
The band works by stimulating the nerves, so by slowing down your eating (20,20,20) it tells the brain its fuller quicker........... try slowing down, smaller plate etc it will help............ of course get in touch with your providers too and get a fill............... finding that restriction will help :) all the best x

I tell you what, if you have decent restriction you WILL lose weight.

I've just experienced over-restriction and it was horrible, but I wasn't hungry in the slightest.

I reckon I only need another 0.1 or 0.2ml in the band, it's as sensitive as that.

What size band do you have ? If you have no restriction at all get them to check you over and make sure everything is all ok with the band , no leaks etc. Then if everything ok you may need another fill to get some proper restriction.

Kind regards BD x

Hi just wanted to say that I had my surgery in 2007 and have not had a positive time. But I now have a new medical team helping me and I'm working out which bit was me going wrong and which bit was the band and fills. I have actually spent years over tight which is why I couldn't eat right and never felt hungry. When I had my band done all they take about was restriction I never heard about listening to hunger really as the focus. I am now starting to believe I could use the tool, speak to your medical team and get help. I hope you feel more positive soon hun, but I totally get how you feel...do it now so you are not like me 7 years out!!!
