I seem to of caught a bad stomach bug or something. Is it safe for me to take Imodium? Really want my gut rot over with. I am sure it's not going to be good for me to be going to the toilet so much.

Hun if you have a bad belly, and its coming out at he other end..then best let it do its thing... imodium will stop you doing just that so therefore you wont get rid of the bug. Its better out than in hun. Best thing to do is make sure you drink lots of water and if symptoms persist after 3 days then visit your doc xxx

It is better to let it run its course unless its abit of dumping syndrome. When did it start and if in doubt ring urgent care they will advise you what would be suitable in your condition. They are very good and do consult appropriate consultants fro healthcare problems xx hope thats of some use to you.

Yeah i know it was from imodium but my whole family had norovirus recently and the doctor suggested imodium (or similar) he said the only thing you get from "letting diarrhea run its course" was dehydrated.

i worked in a pharmacy for 6 years and the only time the pharmacist would recommend immodium was if you need to put a stop to the runs (cant spell diarea lol) for a temperary time.. .like going on a train journey with no loo around etc.... but as soon as you stop taking it... your stools will loosen up again... so best let it out while you can.. as said better out than in x

Didn't take Imodium but by Sunday I ended up in A&E nearly collapsing of dehydration and then I was admitted for 4 nights and constantly on a drip. Home now but it's still going on. Thankfully it's slowing down. Stomach bugs after bypass are horrible :(

I just wish I went and saw someone before it got that far. I am on diarolyte and because I got run down my gums started to bleed and swell so I have corsodyl too. Everything just seems to be amplified pain wise. Have to admit, the last few days I have been regretting it. Also because of the drip I have water retention and gained weight, even though I am in day 8 of pooping. Atleast the nurses did a good job hydrating me lol.
