Don't know if any of you have seen this today in the newspapers but apparently eating a protein rich diet in middle age is as bad for you as smoking.
Isn't that exactly what us "bypassers" are advised to do? So we've had the op to try and extend our lives so we don't get obesity related illnesses
and now, we find out we're going to shorten our lives by eating too much protein! Can we ever win?

In short no. I guess as we can't eat much we should be ok especially as it's lean meat if we listened to every new theory we'd never eat or drink again. Moderation in everything

Bear in mind although we are on a high protein diet post op, its still not really a high protein diet that non surgery people go on. We need the protein to maintain our lean muscle mass, and we suffer from malabsorption. I would always advise following your teams guidelines, and not worry about the latest press release. After all last week eating red meat was bad for you but this week its not!
