attempting to take back control

well here I am almost 2 years post bypass ....my weight has stuck for the last 6 months :confused: why you might ask ? have I lost all I can ....no I let bad habits slip in :eek: ....yes you might wonder why I let that happen .... well to be honest don't think I really noticed or if I did... I ignored the warning signs .... that little treat I thought I deserved because I was doing so well ...that little treat that wouldn't make a difference because it was only now and then ....that little treat decided to become a daily treat ......and that little treat did make a difference it stopped my weightloss :mad: when I should have been taking advantage of it rather than abusing it :mad: ....I used to read posts about others eating things they shouldn't before my op and I thought how can they do that to themselves I wouldn't do that :( ....well let me tell you I did ......:sigh: so here I am waiting on my kick up the bum :eek:because I deserve it
also my exercise regime stopped :wave_cry:was always making excuses ....not any time, too tired.......
well today is a new start have set myself some small goals to help me get back on track

go to gym
drink my fluids
eat my protein
take my meds
log my food intake (diary)
eat NO RUBBISH

so I would appreciate any help you can give me that will help me get back into the zone
tell me how you keep going ...what tricks you found helped ? anything i'm desperate
 
Planning is key for me. Knowing how the week will pan out and planning my food around it.

I agree with the others, planning (and a lot of determination). One day at a time, leading to weeks at a time...
 
yes Yvessa I am trying to plan ahead made a pot of soup this morning logging everything I eat and drink .....have been to gym 1st time in around 6 months maybe longer :rolleyes: and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be
well sis (Chrisa :D) lets get back on it together :D we'll help each other through this bad patch
 
I am trying sis. Nutha night at work come 4pm this is the worst for me. Have a pasta salad made, and some ham as protein to snack on have had most of my fruit n veg quota today and had left over lunch from yesterday at dinner time. Have ryvita if I need something later. Lots of water and tea to drink xx
 
sounds good food wise I mean not sure I'd like working nightshift though
yes try keeping busy and drinking lots of tea and water that's what ive been doing in and out toilet all day lol
also trying to keep busy doing lots of little jobs keep my mind off the biscuit tin lol
 
When I gained almost a stone back,I cut down on almost ALL carbs..they are the devil!
Ate mostly protein based foods and pulses/beans
And absolutely loads of water and got back onto exercise.
Fluids is a definite when it comes to kick starting weightloss again.
I've actually gained again,so I'm going to be going back to this x
 
Hi there and welcome back abroad :) I echo lots of the above, preparation, sheer determination and the drive and desire to succeed........... easy in the early days, the honeymoon period (i'm 9 weeks post op) i think its easy to get complacent and allow a little slip from time to time, which in turn can so easy turn into a big slip......... the achievement is realising its happening and making plans to turn things around ......... so i congratulate you not only for your losses already but for your renewed commitment to making this work :)
Key things for me are this site for sure........ coming here everyday posting helps me keep on top of things.............. the support and encouragement from friends is amazing.
I'm not one for kicking butts LOL more a gentle encourager :) so wd and gl for this renewed journey x x x
 
Yeah wasn't too bad last night kept up with the water n tea x kept busy xx Yeah deffo carbs that need to go more protein n exercise x
 
had not too bad a day today 1st day back at work managed to drink loads and log everything I ate did a little exercise and plan on going to gym tomorrow :) no rubbish or extras eaten :D

Hi not too bad food wise but did have wine. Met up with a work colleague who is still undergoing breast cancer treatment. WE went to hers for lunch chicken enchiladas home made with salad, was lovely but she got me a bottle of rose wine which she kept topping up got home just after 5pm, very giggly I might add, my hubby said pisshead. Fish for my tea and 4 chips took batter off. Wine was naughty but food wise good. JUst a one off was good to catch up. Sounds like you are doing well DRYLAW. XX

yes doing ok and yes I am up at this ungodly hour cos im going to the gym omg am I in the zone I hope so 2nd time this week so far :D here to a good day
 
well im up and about to go to the gym for the third time this week :D I have managed to get through the week and I have stuck to most of my goals the drinking extra fluids has tailed off but at least im aware only a few extras have passed my lips but I have accounted for them and logged them so I know what to try and avoid next week very happy with week so far :D
 
Pleased to hear you are doing well, well done. I wa doing ok then decided last night would have a bit of my Easter egg. Ohh no more was a Ferrero Roche egg , only ate part of the egg. bout 2 hrs later sweats dizzy made slice of toast n cuppa tea, usually sorts it out. Went to bed heart beating outta my chest sweats again felt sick never usually sick but made my self sick. Came back to bed 1/2 hour later started again absolutely soaked in sweat from every orifice. Felt really bad, dumping big time that hasn't happened for a long time. Had to have large glass of milk and 2 digestives in 2 rounds one before a shower and one after it, had to keep hubby with me was shaky and unsteady on my feet. Went back to bed eventually shattered up for work now and exhausted. No more egg for me. Think it was a wake up call. feel like S**** TODAY. shattered.com xx
