Hi guys I'm a week out on purée and haven't lost any weight I'm so stressed about it I've cried most days worrying about it ...I'm thinking I went through all of this and now no weight loss help xx

No don't be sad! I was so full of air post op I put weight on in my first week. Also had to pee lots as was retaining fluid also. It's the best tool one could hope for but it's still not magic, let your body recover from the major surgery and then you will see the lbs drop in no time x

I can understand what you are going through hun.. I feel the same way you do. My weight loss has stopped as well... Just started my purée a few days ago.. Hoping that I will start losing again soon. We can and will do this Hun..x

Thanks guys just feel so disheartened after the journey to get here it just seemed like I have made a massive mistake ....I know it's early days and I should take my time and not stress but I am xx

Come on girls chin up :) put those pesky scales away and concentrate on getting well.......... your body's are still healing right now, please give it a couple of weeks, get your body used to its new eating patterns, get your fluids in and TRUST the weight will come off............... you've just had major surgery allow yourselves time to recover :) i promise these fears will be a million miles away in a few weeks and those lb's are dropping x x x x

I was the exact same soon as puree entered the race.... no loss for nearly 2 weeks, its disheartening but only because we look for the evidence of losing weight, as with diets some weeks you lose pounds others its inches it all catches up in the end.

Keep your chin up & good luck with your journey xx

As the others say, don't panic Mr Mainwaring!

Your body is thinking 'what the hell is going on????' and hanging on to pounds for dear life. The moment it catches on the weight will come off - though your body will still have the occasional panic and hang on to pounds - sometimes for weeks at a time.

xx

I'm 7 weeks post op and I have had 2 weeks of not shifting much at all and others where it has dropped off, it's not predictable and your body will fight to hold on to what it knows! However, if you think about it rationally, there is no way you are not going to lose with the tiny amount of calories you're consuming.
I've found that the more protein I get in, the more I lose. I was told to aim for 60 - 80g a day and it was hard at first but yesterday I finally managed to get to 90g and this morning another pound off... water, protein, rest, exercise. The magic combo!
Now you're on purees you would try the Danio strained yoghurts - even if you only managed half a pot at a time they have around 14g of protein and are 100 calories, pretty good! Or a one egg omlette with a babybel light - 100 calories and 17g protein... just takes a bit of fiddling and getting used to to find what works best for you.
Keep that chin up, it will happen!

As sue says your body is in panic mode it knows something is not right At this stage it's burning any excess muscle first in a desperate effort not to use up those oh so vital fat stores (not). You may notice that your arms and legs appear thinner as this is where the excess muscle is usually taken from. You will also still be swollen from all the jiggery pockery and it takes a few weeks for that to settle down fully. Don't fret hun it's all part of the process and most of us on here go through this ;) x

Thank you so much it does make me feel better that it's normal ....just still a little disheartened. .....x

Don't be ;) it won't be long before that dial moves downwards. It will happen!! Xx
