Had a bypass last October my loss has been slow but steady, I have lost 6 stone 10lbs, and my bmi has gone from 40 to 21, I am very happy with my weight loss and am very comfortable (with clothes on!) but don't want to loose any more weight as I'm beginning to look very shrivelled with loose skin in certain places, I am a size 8 - 10, my restriction is good and I dump fairly easily, I have been trying to increase my intake so I can maintain my weight but it is still coming off (all be it slowly), I have only ever been deficient in folic acid never needed any vit b etc so clearly getting enough calories and nutrition but how are we supposed to stop loosing weight? I never in my life thought I would have this problem! The comments I'm getting have changed from OMG you look fantastic, to OMG your looking so skinny are you ill?

Thinner Jemma have read through some of your posts, I can't believe what a time you've had! Also can't believe you've ended up with a feeding tube! Can I ask have you stopped loosing weight now? Was it because of the malnutrition they gave you the tube rather than your weight as bmi in the normal range?

I'm exactly the same my last two dietician appointments have been the dietician telling me to increase my calories. I was also bypassed in October.

I'm eating cheese, pate, milk and nuts through the day, but my quantities are still tiny. Full fat milk by the way.

I'll be watching this with interest!!

Good luck x

I was persuaded to have the tube as I can't stop losing weight, honestly I can blink and lose 5kg in a fortnight unless I keep on top of things. I have malnutrition as I've had such difficulty eating and things were going downhill. My toenail haven't grown for 14 months, hair not growing.

Thank goodness I'm ok with olive oil, I dump on sugar or the sugar/fat combination. Olive oil in hummus is fine. I asked my dietician what to do to get weight on as soft cheese would just put up cholesterol.

Keep on top of things and don't let it slide for even a week!

With 10 days of enteral feeding over a week ago, my BMI has just crept to 22. My weight is not indicative of how I look as I have always done a lot of gym. I don't look like death warmed up at this weight but I don't really want to put any more on now !
