me again!

ive been in pain ever since yesterday lunchtime.

all around my stomach hurts. It also hurts to drink.

any ideas??

Strangely, I've just had some soup and that went down fine...

Possibly "real" hunger pangs .. I got them very early on and still occasionally do if I leave it too long between meals. If in doubt then go get a drink if it still persists then something more substantial. Learn to recognise how hunger feels so that you can differentiate it from that and head hunger ;) xx

Hi Hun,

Thanks for the reply ... the weekend was manic so only just gotten around to replying!

I am meant to still be on liquids only until Wednesday, but I decided to have a jar of baby food yesterday to see if it could be hunger pains... The pain did seem to ease off a lot actually!

I'm in pain again today but it's a different type of pain, in a different place.... around my belly button.

I just want to feel ok, am feeling a bit grotty now :(

I think we tend to forget that this is major surgery we have had and to experience different pains is all part of the healing process as nerves stitch themselves back together. However it goes without saying that if it is causing concern always phone your team for advice. I continued to get "pains" well into my second month post op but nothing too sinister. Is it possible that you could be constipated which is not unusual in these few weeks after surgery ;) x

Sorry you are feeling poorly NorthamptonGirl, unfortunately i don't have any decent suggestions, just to call your dr or aftercare team and ask them what they make of it? Could be nothing like a bit of wind or could be something more important.

Good luck and i hope you feel better! :)

Hi hun, thanks for the reply.
I'll give it a while, hopefully it will sort itself out, if not then I'll call them :)
