Hi all,

I know there are medications we can't take any more, but I only know this because you guys told me!

Does anyone know what we can/can't take??

Sam x

Dont know about cant take only see on here about changing from pill form to liquid version if able to or a chewable version as pills could I hear get stuck
Have a chat with your gp or team

Thanks Los, the main thing I've found out from people on here is that we can't take NSAIDs.

I am on a lot of medication for bipolar and physical problems. I was told a bypass was not an option for me due to poor absorption of these medications. For now I am having to crush and add them to water whilst on the fluid diet. Ask your team or GP is definitely the best idea on this occasion.

Thanks hun,

Right now I just want something for a cold, so I'm going to try lozengers, as long as they are sugar free I can't see them being a problem.

The anti depressants that I am on I was told I need to have as liquid for 8 weeks, and then can start taking them again.

I will speak with my team for future reference though :)

The taste of these meds crushed and added to water is so disgusting uchh.

Changing subject for a min Went out on a bus in my wheelchair yesterday and in a lot of pain last night and this morning. These holes do not like being shaken about.

ouch!

I have a spinal prolapse and was on pain meds for that which have been changed pre-op. I have already had to change from Diclofenac to dohydrocodeine amongst others. I've also had to change from omoperazole to lanzoperazole.

You can take paracetamol and sudafed for a cold :)

Mrs z - i had to change from omeprazole to lanzoprazole too.

Paula - thank you! X

I had a nasty cold last week and took liquid paracetamol - sugar free calpol! Also had lemsip sachets which were fine and sugar free strepsils.

I wasn't told not to take certain things again either, from what I understand it's things like ibruprofen which we should avoid as they can cause stomach ulcers but I still need to check this with my team.

thanks Stacey.

I am taking liquid paracetamol and using no added sugar halls losengers!!
