Trapped wind or tight pouch? I can feel different wind in different bits of my tummy, so like sometimes it's like a stitch in my left hand side, sometimes my neck hurt but the majority of the time I just get these huge uncomfortable pains, in/around my diaphragm area? Like a ball of wind/tightness, although, don't burp unless I make myself? Is this wind still, or is this my pouch is tight? I've been sipping fluids throughout the day, a bit of low fat chocolate milk and I mean a couple of sips and a couple of spoon fills of jelly, throughout yesterday.... Is this too m

I'd say its wind...next time your suffering try peppermint or a warm hot water bottle on your tummy area.
In the early days I'd get wind in the shoulder area..I still get a lot of windy type pains now x

Yeah I will, does anyone retch with it? All morning I have been rerching. I can't cope.

It could also be your muscles healing from where they put their laparoscopic instruments in, combined with wind. Get up and walk about as much as you can and take regular pain relief, even if you haven't got pain x

I had wind like this too - walking is good - but Windeeze helped too. If you are worried - talk to your team tomorrow x

I go with all above sound like wind the peppermint tea is fab, its nice hot warm or cold refreshing and help sort out that awful taste you have in your mouth too. I like Emma still get windy pains too. Its a learning curve in these early days. BUt a little bit of walking everyday and after food will help for it all to circulate round the body and work its way up or down either way its a relief. x

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate it. I was just awful this mornjng and retching all over the place but it's settled as the day has gone and I've had some chicken soup and a bit of jelly!

That's good to know xx

I was sent home from surgery with INFACOL to help with the wind pain.. Was told to have a five ml spoonful ... It actually worked really well...

Hope it passes for you soon as it is quite awful x

Hi everyone, I was given some oradispersable lanzoprazole today, they think the wrethcing may be a little too much acid in my stomach! I took one early and my tummy has been more settled but also the wind is easing now so it could be that too! Either way, fingers crossed I get a good night's sleep tonight! Thanks everyone for your advice and support x

Sleep well xx

Those tablets are fab.. They are part of my daily meds for life as prescribed by my surgeon ... It protects the pouch from all the problems you have been experiencing ...

Glad your sorted and more comfy now
