Hi all,

In need of some help!!

I'm 8 weeks post op and now on solids.. 3-4 tbs per meal. If I overeat I'm sick (3-4 times per week).. It was nearly every day a couple of weeks ago. I get nausea and delayed dumping also if I make the wrong choices..

But that doesn't seem to stop me making the wrong choices.. I've lost 4 stone in 4 months and doing really well, but I know this will stall and I want to lose another 10. I'm exercising well and feel great.. So, why are old habits creeping back.

Should I go back to my team and ask for more help, although I'm beginning to feel a failure again. My husband doesn't understand me and I don't either. I don't want to be shouted at.

I know I should record everything I eat and that's maybe where I should start.. It's almost as if now that I'm back on solids, my old habits are creeping back. I'm terrified of getting a hernia.

I'd love some pearls of wisdom.. Please. I know there are many experienced bypassers out there and also second timers, like me, who have also had the band.

Thank you in advance.

Jxx

Oh dear
ive not had my op yet but I do feel you should speak to your team and get support we all know this is not easy and slip ups will happen and the team WONT shout at you they are they to help you not just when things go well but when things can be a little trying
you are only 8 weeks out from WLS so its really very early days so I guess until you get into some kind of routine this may happen
im still doing a food log in on here as I find it really helps me to see when im doing well and when I need to give myself a kick up the bum!
I plan to do this for a little while longer just to keep me on the right tracks so it could help you .....something to think about
good luck

JEVF you should definitely go back to your team, they will be used to hearing people who are having the same issues all the time. Good luck & chin up xxx

I have my bypass in two weeks so have no experience to speak of - but I do understand how this can easily happen. I worry how I will deal with the mental aspect of things and kicking the old habits - I have a major sweet tooth and that's my main problem in being overweight .. I'm hoping I dump big style after the op to physically stop me from being able to eat the things I shouldn't.

Good luck with it and well done for your weight loss so far :) keep us up-to-date how you're getting on.
