Chichester - St Richards

Hiya everyone,

I'm wondering if someone who's had their op at chicherster could tell me how long they had to wait after their MDT appointment, also how do they tell you about the op? do I have to phone them or do they just write to you with a date? how much notice do you get?

I was so excited after they said yes all the questions I wanted to ask went out of my head.

I was the same... Now I am here like you waiting for same answers.. Silly lot we are!!! Lol..
Not at Chichester though sorry.. My MD meeting was on 11th sept now got pre assessment appointment but don't know what for..

Hopefully we will get some answers soon before I pop!!!!

It's on 30th sept.. And MDT meeting was 11th sept so been quite quick xx

blimey that is quick, is pre assessment the same as pre-op?

That's the answer I am looking for.. Lol
On the appointment letter it says bring your operation letter but nothing arrived yet...

Just looking at all the stuff I got a the MDT meeting and it mentions pre-assessment approx 2 weeks before surgery. So might be worth calling your team tomorrow, x

Called twice just get answer phone so leave message but no one replies.. Just gonna have to wait.. Ahhhhhhhh xxx

Hope on the 30th they will say start pre op LSD.. And be a October op.. That would be great then it will be all settled for Xmas x but only a week left x

I called today to ask about what happens next and was told I wouldn't have surgery before Xmas, but a few weeks before surgery I'd have my pre assessment. Sounds like you might have yours next month x

I think it's 18 weeks after MDT Hun!

yeah I did think that before the MDT but the surgeon told everyone that it would be before xmas, so bet they'll be a few unhappy people. I'm not to bothered, It's only an extra couple of weeks and I have hols booked so It suits me better being then. x

That's good for you but not fair of the surgeon!!

That's what I thought.. That op would be quite near pre assessment as they are assessing you to see if your fit for op so they got going to leave a big time gap as your health could changes!!

Well it's on tues so not long to wait till I get some answers.. X

As the kids say - I'm well-jell!
I got a copy of a letter the surgeon sent my doctor, saying they've offered me surgery and I've book my barium swallow 15th oct! That's as exciting as it gets this end x

Got my barium swallow next week but other than that not heard anything. I was thinking today shouldn't I have a letter or something from the mdt
