treadmill at gym after surgery

When does everyone start to exercise after surgery? when would it normally be ok to get back on the treadmill?

I guess it all depends on how you feel and what you're doing on the treadmill, if its just a steady walk for a short while then as soon as you feel able (I was going out for short walks by 4 weeks post op) If you want to pound the treadmill I'd suggest that you wait until you are at least eating ok
