Discharge from wound

Hi all. I'm 10 days post op after a gastric bypass. I've had my staples removed today and ever since I've got a brown fluid discharging from my biggest incision. I've gone through 3 dressings in less than an hour. Does anyone know what this could be please?

Go to your GP and get it looked at, as it may be infected x

Best get a doc to look at it asap you never know, better be safe!

I'm having a mini gastric bypass.do the staples get removed sometime after op?

I haven't got staples, only stitches, which I'm having removed 11 days after my mini by pass, mine are healing nicely

I had my staples removed 10 days after the op

I had my staples removed 10 days post op, one day later I noticed marks on my dressings. I went to see the GP and while I was at the surgery my wound burst and I was covered in foul smelling liquid. 4 days in hospital on IV antibiotics I have been sent home with a wound bag on so the rest of the infection can drain. Get yourself to the doctor before it can get hold. It may be nothing but if it was me I would rather be safe than sorry

It's been a few days. I was wondering how you are doing? I hope your wound is healing well. I've still got this drainage bag on which is very restrictive and I would love to be able to go outside . I see the consultant on Wednesday so fingers crossed he'll be happy with it and I will be able to move on to the healing stage x
