What to expect at MDT app?

Morning! I have my MDT 3hour appointment today, just wondering what to expect? Thanks

Good luck xxxx think it's just bloods health check with nurse, then psychiatrist to see how your doing mentally and if your'll need council long after etc and dietician to start your first milk diet? Don't forget to let us know later xxx

My MDT (multidisciplinary team) meeting was where I spent an afternoon meeting with the dietician, the bariatric nurse, had my weight/height/BP/Bloods taken. Saw the surgeon to say what surgery I wanted and why. He then made the decision to put me on waiting list. All done and dusted now. Two weeks out tomorrow. Good luck x

Went really well, was there for 3 hours, see the physiologist, nurse & dietician all were pleased with surgery so go ahead, so I have a appointment tomorrow with the surgeon & anesthetist and will be give my surgery date which is looking at end of January 2 weeks before op I have a pre-op where they will do tests and take bloods etc plus start the milk diet then!
What stage are you at?

that's great news! I'm all done, I had a bypass in May this year, best thing I ever did. 6 stone 11lbs down! you should have a good Christmas then as you have something fab to look forward to in the new year. x

Thankyou, it was about an hour long and she wanted to know everything that's happened in my life from whether my parents were together, if my children had same dads, have I lost anyone, been bullied as a child etc quite in depth, I was worried as I'm on antidepressants and thought that would be a barrier but they said alls good, good luck with your appointment in March x

Sorry, I missed this. Thanks, I'm not on any anti depressants so hopefully it will be pretty straight forward.

Did anyone else have to have a lung function test? I don't smoke or have any illnesses? No one even mentioned it before so now I'm confused xx

When do you have to have this test??? I've not been told anything about this

I've got my MDT on the 20th Jan and the lung capacity test is on the 19th February xx

It's just a test to make sure your lungs can expand ( inflate and deflate) with out you struggling nothing too worry about

THANKYOU mouse will it delay my surgery at all? Just everyone is kinda getting surgery 4/5 weeks after MDT, I'm just worried that that's around The time I would of gotten my surgery and now it might be delayed :-( xxx

As long as you don't have any medical issues it shouldn't stop you having surgery, other people might have a more urgent need to get their surgery before you.

I did she said it was just a routine thing and my consultant had asked for one :-s. Oh well when I go on the 20th I'll find out more then. Could could understand if I had asthma or smoked etc. never had any breathing problems lol xx
