Getting more fluids in

I know that most days I don't quite manage to get enough fluid in, I would also like to try and reduce the amount of coffee I drink. I have alway liked to drink hot water with a slice of lemon and slice of ginger, is this likely to cause any problems post op?

I'm post sleeve and hot water with lemon was recommended to me by my surgeon that and peppermint tea or camomile xx

Ginger good for digestion, lemon aids bowels, sounds good to me. Watch the caffeine withdrawal headache though, it's hell - might be better to do when you are a bit better?

And I'm going to add in peppermint oil because you can carry it in your bag or pocket have it as strong as you want great for tummy, wind feeling sick and it shifts the wind pain you get after operation it's much better than the tea bags plus it's cheap to but on Amazon, mine cost under two pound for two 10 ml bottles I never leave the house without mine because it's better hot but you can have it cold. Here's a hint for today :)

Thanks Mouse57, which peppermint oil do you but, most seem to be for external use only?

Even though it's called oil, it is for internal and won't harm you. When I was suffering a few week ago I asked a pharmacist who said "Have you tried peppermint oil" because that what's in most tummy medications. The other two I use a lot of is lavender oil you can use directly on the skin without a carrier oil and it's a great anti-inflammatory, great for burns including sunburn and relaxation. Eucalyptus oil can be used to get oil out of clothes and if you have anyone who mends cars, rub a little bit onto grease stain and then wash works wonders. ( just a few old wife's tales that work) but then I am an old wife lol I got my peppermint from Amazon or go to www.freshskin.co.uk £1:79 for two bottles with free postage

I've been drinking what I think is is referred to as bouillon. A teaspoon of powder in a mug mixed with hot water. Just need to be careful not to have too much because of the salt content
