No longer overweight! How do I maintain?

So happy I am no longer overweight by the dreaded BMI chart, my question is how do I maintain?? All my life I've either been dieting or gaining weight, also I can't see how I can eat more, this is a typical day

Half a pot of low fat yog
a slice of melon chopped up
2 spoons of special K granola

a slice of ham
salad
2 spoons of couscous

half a chicken breast
a few mushrooms
peas and sweetcorn

I'm a very fussy eater I don't like pasta or spuds only meat I will eat is chicken or ham, love almost all veg and lots of fruits

You look fantastic Butterfly and massive well done on your 'normality' :)

I've maintained my weight for 11weeks!!!! Sadly, it's not intentional as I'd like to lose another 10lbs.

How much weight have you been losing on average on a weekly basis?

Well for the last 4 months its varied, its been about half a pound a week but then I'll drop 2lbs in a week for no obvious reason (I had early menopause in my 30's so its not monthly fluctuations and I've never gained once) I don't want to go to skin and bone lol

Personally, just going by the menu you posted, I'd swap out the low-fat yoghurt for full-fat and rather than have Special K have the same portion size of a more nutritionally rich (and higher calorie) cereal such as Dorset Cereal.

What about snacks in between? Nuts are high calorie and fantastic for you.

Instead of chicken breast, swap to a chicken thigh which is more caloric as the meat isn't as lean.

Wow !!!!

You are such an inspiration ..

Super well done and you look fabulous!!!

I'm sure you will maintain and find a happy medium with your healthy eating and never use the word "DIET" again lol ..

Good luck xx

Reply with the above about higher calorie foods, and additional snacks.

Well done on the loss though, anazing!

I agree with the other ideas. Sprinkle some cheese on something, have a drink with full fat milk, snack on some nuts, let yourself have an extra kit Kat! Congratulation!

Thanks for the replies folks, today I bought "normal" yogurts I have also bought a bag of mixed nuts to munch on, I don't like chocolate - never have!! Imagine that a fat bird not liking chocolate yet the amount of people who used to say ohhhhhhhhh go on I bet you do go on have some, now people (that didn't know me before) say, ah thats how you are so slim :D
Also I have bought some butter real butter to use rather than the low fat spread, and cheese I do love cheese so will have a few cubes of that in the evening, its so alien as all my life its been geared to low fat losing weight lol

Thank you for the kind words guys it means a lot xx

I can't stand low-fat anything. Low fat = high sugar in most cases. I'm like you - not a choc lover. The sorts of things I've always had as snacks are nuts, seeds, cheese, dates, dried spicy seaweed (sounds odd but is lovely), biltong and that sort of thing.

A lush snack is Total yoghurt (not the zero fat one!) with a teaspoon of lemon curd on, a couple of cut up brazil nuts, scattering of pumpkin seeds and some strawberries or blueberries.

You're looking great though and I'm sure you'll have no problem maintaining.

Ok that was pretty rubbish attempt, I've upped my food and switched from low fat stuff like spreads for lurpak and lite mayo to normal mayo, having olive oil dressings on my salads added nuts as a snack, and in 10 days I've lost 1.5lbs lol!!

Couldn't make it up I am now trying NOT to lose weight and its coming off faster than when I used to diet!!

You may find it takes a few weeks for your body to catch up. Persist though. Try using MyFitnessPal or similar to track your Kcals in and out and obviously they should be the same to avoid a loss.

Good luck, I can only imagine the pain of not wanting to lose weight :)

Thanks :) Tbf I'm not too stressed out about it, just found it amusing, I think subconsciously I have been worried about gaining so maybe not ate as much as I thought I was, I thinking logging every cal is a good idea then I can increase/decrease by 100 if things are moving in the wrong direction :)

Couldn't have hot choc (I'm a weirdo chocolate hater lol) but a buttered biccie now thats right up my alley thank you for the kind words you make this old bird very chuffed :)

Good plan and for an "old girl" you look pretty fab x

Well done chick, what a great result. I'm sure you'll work it out

Cheers there's 52 miles on the clock! Hopefully plenty more miles to go :8855:

Crikey, you're only half way there :D

Good luck with the maintenance, it is probably the hardest as it is a lifelong thing,
