I finally had my op on Thursday after 3 cancellations .i was discharged today and feel a bit battered and bruised apart from that I feel ok.
My consultant said I should be drinking 2 litres of water a day or I will get dehydrated and end up ill but at the moment it is an impossible task to drink all that liquid in one day.
How much were you all drinking in the early days.?

After your let downs, so glad it's happened for you :)

I found it hard at first taking in enough liquids, lost the taste for squash after the op. I found oxo to be my saving grace and now drink at least two big mug fulls a day along with tea and water.

Hope you can find something that tickles your taste buds x x

Look forward to hearing your updates.

Hi andie I has a sleeve done in December 2013 and at first found it hard to get enough fluid in but as I was told kept sipping all day and evening long and I was fine as I'm sure you will be congratulations on your surgery and have speedy recovery xxxxx

Thank you so much for you comment it is hard with the fluids but every day I find I can drink a little bit more so hopefully things will get a bit easier soon xxx

I'm four weeks out, and it is hard to get the fluids in at first.

As long as your urine is light coloured, don't worry, just keep sipping as much as you can.

I went from drinking about 3 litres of water daily down to about half a litre in the first week or so. It has been slowly increasing now, and I'm back to about a litre a day. The hardest part is to just keep sipping instead of taking large drinks.

I weighed myself this morning and have stayed the same since surgery is that normal? I'm day 5 post op
Xx

I expect its normal. I did read here in other people diaries that they experienced similar (even gained weighed when in hospital).

I have not stepped on the scales yet after my surgery.. To be honest dont have interest in that atm ;) my stomach feels even more giant than it was so there wouldnt be any good news :) i just keep wondering when i am suppose to expect to go to the toilet for the'big thing' ;)

It was several days before my scale moved at all. Give it time, stick to the rules of your team and the weight will start to shift!

You just made me laugh reading about the big thing, I haven't been for days . I was just wondering how you are feeling as I am 5 days post op and feel a bit breathless when I am doing stuff around the house just wondering if it's normal xxx

Well done Andi. Welcome over to the losers bench

I do get breathless when doing things too. I kept joking with my husband today on my walk that i can either walk or breath ! :) but i do make a point now and then during the day to do some gentle but deep breathing in and out. Just to exercise my lungs :)

Today i also seem to have problems with back and neck pain. Not sure if its because of the way i walk/sit/sleep or is it something else.

Well the last time i went for the 'big thing' was the night before surgery.. So thats why i started wondering as i dont want to take anything for it too quick.. But was not sure how long should i wait.

Well it must be quite normal then to feel like that if you have it also . How long post op are you ? Xx

Didn't realise you had it done only 3 days ago well done to you also.xx wishing you a speedy recovery Xx

I didnt quiet realise it was only 3 days ago too.. (Hence the question mark).
