Mr Patel is a talk dark gentleman, hes very softly spoken and a really nice friendly approachable man, they were all lovely in the clinic, waiting room is the most boring part, take something to read! lol google Ameet Patel you will see pics etc and read up what hes known for and his experience, it maybe the same for any of the bariatric team, google xx

Mr Patel is the best...I have known him medically for over 10 years, you could not ask for a more empathetic, kind and caring surgeon. I just wish he would hurry up with his waiting lists! It is good to know that there are a few of us all in the same boat, seems to be a good year wait from being listed. Well is we have waited a year, imagine how great we will all feel in another year after our surgery!!

Hi Oonion
I'm happy that i'm under Mr Patel and have every confidence in him for the forthcoming surgery, i dont mind the wait just dont like being told one thing by one person (Mr Patel himself) then something different by his staff, all i want is this weight off my joints and to be painfree, i dont care how i look within reason just need to feel lighter, had a knee replaced 4 years ago and it has been pure troublesome ever since the rhuematologist whom i walked out on kept repeating 'that a gastric bypass would really help me!' now i'm awaiting an appointment go to the pain management clinic as i have had enough with pain ... also got a headache if anyone wants it had it for 3 days!

Hi Liesa, I recently had the bypass in London. I can assure you that there is nothing to worry about and there is no pain afterwards. You might feel a little discomfort but that is just trapped wind that will get released when you start moving about - usually on the same day as the op. Good luck.

Anyone under Mr Patel had good news this week... I did have to laugh today when I rang the office, Pauline is off and the poor lady covering her said "if your one of Mr Patel's patients then I am sorry I have no dates!" Poor lady must have been getting calls from loads of us this week. ! Good luck if you are lucky enough to be a January Oper... Fingers crossed Liesa and I will be in the February lot!
