Hi,

I haven't even had my op yet and am thinking ahead to saggy skin.

Do we get funding for this or do we have to pay?

just would like to know how post oppers have got on with this.

My PCT will probably be the sme then. I'm under Oldham PCT and they had me jump through every hoop imaginable to get my by pass funding. Doh!!

East Anglia PCT will fund a tummy tuck, after you get down too a acceptable BMI and have maintained for a year.

They will not fund, arms, boobs, moobs or legs though.

You will prob have to pay privately,but you may be supprised by your skin when the weight has gone,My tum isnt as bad as i thought it would be.

I was told that if i lost 7 stone they would remove the HUGE lump on my leg so im holding them to that! not worried about sagging anywhere else

Mine said they would only fund for apronectomy in very extreme circumstances and if it starts to seriously impact on my physical health, mental health isn't a consideration.

I will pay to have anything done that desperately needs doing. I'll save like billyo! It's what I did for my bypass. I know that we can't all afford to do this, and I can't really but if I have to, I will. After all, i don't cost much to feed, don't smoke, don't drink and don't have any costly addictions, unless you count the internet lol. So, I will be pinching my pennies for some time to come ready for some ops.

how long should u wait after having ur surgery? I'm nearly at a year n almost at goal but definitely will need a tummy tuck n I think I want a boob job, I had HH's now they're like empty!

I'm going to start as soon as I have finished losing weight. Going to have either my arms or my boobs done. Then probably the tops of my legs. Should be happy at that because tummy and bottom etc can be camouflaged by clothes etc. I want to have them done for comfort not to make me look gorgeous, because I'm 58 and not bothered about being glam.

Me too. My pct wont pay unless in extreme circumstances either. I don't care. I'll be fine.
