Skin care pre/post op, what did you do ?

in the past i have found Bio Oil good for evening the colour and appearance of skin but from what I can tell all you can do to help your skin not be saggy is drink plenty of fluids, take your suppliments and eat a healthy diet. I doubt that skin is going to 'shrink' more because it is...

Mums are normalising fatness by giving kids the wrong message.

Lowry Turner is horrible. It pains me to think she gets paid to sit in (ignorant) judgement.

what snacks are you eating (at about 5-6 months or so post op)

Low fat pate on crackers has been a good one for me at times. I love Cheesestrings as much as my 5 year old nephew! I find a small handful of monkey nuts can be good because you have to spend time opening them before you eat. Like you I do sometimes slip in to eating too much of something and...

    weight loss (or lack of)

After about 6 months out I certainly found that my diet had a much more noticable effect on my weight loss. All this means though is that if I have a big week (say like for my birthday) where I eat more junk than normal I don't get too comfortable with it because I see it on the scales. So if...

    What's the weight loss really like . . .

Kevin, I have found that there is no food I can't eat but I just can't eat in massive quantities so it is about enjoying the food rather than the gorge it may have been about in the past. I have a roast at least one Sunday a month and I really enjoy it and don't feel like I need to sleep for a...

    Piercings and weight loss

I've got my lip pierced and have lost just over 7 stone so far. It hasn't effected my piercing at all. As others have said I did have to take it out for surgery though and I didn't even feel like putting it back in for a few days after if it wasn't so well healed I'm sure it would have...

How much fluid should we be drinking daily?

My dietician advised me to judge it by the colour of my pee; it should be pale yellow, if it is too dark then I am not drinking enough. I find this is quite an easy guide and it means I can assess all the time whether I am doing well or not. Much more convenient than tallying up each glass I drink.

    Guilty Confession

It is just one slip up, I am sure you will be fine. I was allowed limited amounts of bread on my pre op diet so I'm sure if you commit to the rest of your diet it will not make a difference. The important thing is that you don't give up thinking you have 'ruined everything' like I used to on...

    Weights Conversion Help Please

1kg = 2.2lbs So 75.4kg = 165.9lbs Which is 11st 11.9lbs I think the discrepancy has come from the result giving you the stones as a decimal which is out of 10 where as there are 14lbs in a stone. ie they are saying you 11.8stones as opposed to 11stone 8lbs. So 11.9lbs is 0.8 of a stone...

Looking for advice RE protein shakes

Ah good thinking. Cheers hun! I've been following your diary and you're a real inspiration to me, especially as you're just a month or so ahead of me. I read your recipe for satay and plan on giving that a go at some point so brace yourself for more questions about that! Thanks again x

Looking for advice RE protein shakes

Thanks Rose, how do you make the iced coffee? I know I sound silly! Do you just blend a shake with a tespoon of coffee granuals? Do they dissolve. I bet you never thought there could be so many questions about a cup of coffee! x
