I used to be on here all the time, but this is the first time in a loooonnnng time!
In February I will have been sleeved for 8 years. I started off at 252 (although before the start of my surgery journey I had reached 300 pounds). In the first 18 months I got down to 119 pounds and since then...
Hi
I haven't been on here for ages but something made me drop by today so I thought I'd do a quick update.
I had my sleeve surgery in February 2010 and am so glad I did! Prior to my surgery I suffered from asthma, angina, apnoea, dangerously high blood pressure and arthritis. Now...
Two years ago today I was given my life back in the form of a sleeve. What a crazy 2 years it's been. I am now a size 8 and have been maintaining that for about 9 months. I no longer feel the need to weigh myself every day, but when I do I'm generally 8 1/2 stone or thereabouts.
Never...

I think I'm going to give this a whirl. I'm on maintainence now but have been weighing myself every day and have actually found that my weight has been dropping more and more (I don't update my ticker now though). I am desperately trying to not go below eight and a half stones, but finding it...
I was asked to fill in a survey about weight loss surgery. If anybody else would like to do it, you can access it here Weight loss surgery patients Survey

I went on holiday for a week, exactly a fortnight after my surgery and was fine. We went self-catering too, which made life easier. I did find that I was tired and couldn't do that much, but I would say that by January you would be fine x
I was using a walking stick, sometimes two, pre-op but haven't used them since just after surgery. My general fitness and mobility have increased immensely. However, I do still have arthritis and still get flare ups when I can be in agony. These are (thankfully) far less often these days and the...
I've added some pics of me before and after to my photo album (18 months ago and a few weeks ago when I RAN the Race for Life .... could barely walk without at least one walking stick pre-op) x
Julie, I've been reading a book lately which I've found really helpful. It's called the Thin Commandments and it really helps with understanding your history with food and how not to keep making the same mistakes. You can get it really cheaply on Amazon - It may help xx...
Do not worry at all. It can be slow at the start and you can also get times when you don't lose anything for quite some time. Stick to the rules and make sure you keep moving and drinking water - it will come off eventually.
When I had my surgery back in February last year, I was wearing a size...
I didn't self-fund, I was lucky to get the op on the NHS as I had several co-morbidities.
It is a stand alone procedure and I have lost a total of 173 pounds, 123 of them since the surgery.
I have no regrets whatsoever.
Minimal scarring - they blend in nicely with my stretch marks!
My main...
