The only problem I seem to have so far is with bread but this is quite common. Things like raw cabbage get a bit stuck but I have been told to try them again in a few weeks. Apart from that all is good.
Life post op seems to be going ok, not really had any problems. I just can't keep up with...
Hi all
Not posted in this thead before, as I am not one for checking my weight on a regular basis. So you can imagine my delight when I was weighed at the doctors this morning.
I have now lost just over 4 stone since my surgery in April. When they told me that, I had to ask him to repeat it...
Hi Linzi
I am under St Georges Hospital in Tooting and they sent me a long questionnaire to fill in and take with me to my first appointment. In my questionnaire I found that some of the questions where almost similar but could be taken either way, I found this quite hard, as I did not seem to...
Hi Lisa
I don't come under your PCT but once my GP referred me I had an inital appointment with the surgeon, which we discussed my past eating habits, what type of surgery I wanted and any questions I had. I was asked to give a letter of commitment. I then waited 13 weeks for my psychiatrist...
Hi Christine, welcome to the site. I am sure that someone from Sunderland will be along shortly. Don't be afraid to ask any questions on here, as we have all been or are in the same situation as you.
Hi Rob
Welcome to the site, you will find everyone really friendly and don't be afraid to ask any silly questions as I am sure most of us have asked them before.
Wishing you all the best with your journey.

Every pct is different. My journey took about 18 months in total as you have to have other assessments done. My understanding for my pct is that once on the waiting list for surgery, they should schedule your operation for 18 weeks later. But due to beds and emergencies this is not...
I am not keen on scales as you can get really hooked on weighing yourself and then disappointed with the results. I was weighed on the day of surgery and the day I was discharged (3 days later). I have since been weighed at my hospital support meeting (2 wks after surgery) but I asked for this...
For me the dietician set my goal weight based on the average loss for my surgery type and my excess weight. She said that I should be around a size 16, I can't even remember the last time I was a size 16.
I think I will play my target by ear to see how I look as I get smaller, the main thing...
Your weight loss is amazing, considering that a sleeve is such a new operation and there are not that many statistics out there.
I hope I can do half as good as you!!
I did the food option on the pre op diet and I was only allowed 2 eggs as a portion and 50g of chicken or lean meat. With regards to the drinks I have always had either sugar free volvic flavoured water or NAS squash, my dietician said both were fine.
Good luck for the pre op diet and your...
Hi Becca
Sorry I can't be of any help to you as I am under a different PCT but I did not want to read and run.
Welcome to the site, I am sure that someone who is from the same area as you will be along shortly to assist you.
Wishing you all the best for your journey.
