Hi Diana, I wish you the best of luck. I had my sleeve done at the Spire earlier this year and have never regretted my choice. The weight loss IS slower than with a bypass, but some would say this is a good thing as it gives your skin chance to catch up.

You've already had some great advice, the exact thing happened to me at around 5 weeks after my sleeve surgery. What I found is it takes your mind a while to adapt and catch up to the surgery, especially when you first start on the solid foods. I was setting myself the tiniest portions and even...

I've heard there is something in pepsi and coca cola that can harm the staples, how true that is I don't know but so far I've avoided it like the plague.

You've lost the same amount as me and I'm 12 weeks out from surgery! I am eating more than 650 cals though, I was told I could eat soft solids from 4 weeks.
you're doing great!

After a great weight loss it can take time to 'grow into our new selves, most people initially can look a bit gaunt. Give yourself time to catch up, keep up with the fluids and vitamins and you'll have anyone who doesn't think you look fabulous eating their words.

I waited about a month, I was given a selection of dates, from two to six weeks after my first consultation. As others have said it's pretty much up to you. My daughter has had a consultation but has told them she will need to wait six months to get the money together.
Hello Ladylite,
I can't say too much about loose skin as I am only at the start of my journey, and of course every body is different.
I must say though I paid privately and had a sleeve gastrectomy for £9,500 the gastric bypass would have cost the same with "healthier weight" I got £1,000 off...
Hi GN,
The gastric sleeve is a permanent procedure, reducing the amount that can be eaten at any one time. Weight loss tends to be slower at first because there is no malabsoption or re-routing of the intestines. I liked the fact that it is permanent, the dreaded dumping syndrome is virtually...
