Its a comitimant to following the rules you are given. Nobody enjoys the milk diet but its a compleat food and does the job of shrinking your liver and cleaning out bits of food in your bowel.
Good luck

You can take your glasses in for adjustment so they still fit.
Yes your head shrinks. I now wear hats as they look and feel good now instead of like a pea on a drum! I have gone from a size 24 to a 10, a bra size 42DD to a 32d and a small size 6 in a shoe to a 5.
Make sure you are not bunged up at all as you may have some solids in there from before your op. Also, try foods and drinks at different temperatures. Even now at 2 years out I cannot drink very cold drinks. Iced water is the worst for pain. Hot drinks are easier to drink than warm ones...
I was told that you can have it every 10 weeks if you find it makes a difference. This is what I do and then I dont get the low energy periods so much.
Thanks for your lovely comments.
Liggielass - I live in fear of regain and even though my weight goes up by a couple of pounds (and back down) over the course of a month I find it hard to deal with. If I feel I am a pound heavier than I should be I watch my diet more for a few days and go...
Just thought I would do a little update.
Today it is 2 years since Mr Roger Ackroyd gave me a rny bypass. Although all has gone well it has been by no means easy. When I went for my referral to the GP my weight was 18st 5lbs. By the time I went to see Mr A I had lost a bit and was 15st 7lb. Now...
Best - I have maintained my weight within a few pounds each way for 16 months. I am able to stay awake now all day. I can move more easily. I have made some fantastic friends though having the op. I now have a bit more confidence even though I tend to be quieter now.
Worst - Cannot have a...
I've been wondering if everyone would still go thru a gastric bypass given their time again???
Yes
If so why? And if not why?
It has given me the help needed to get my weight down to normal and I have stayed there for 10 months so far. I am also now able to maintain within a couple of pounds...
What did you do on a daily basis ? Follow all the rules such as not drinking 30mins before or after eating.
What did you eat and drink ? Mainly protein such as chicken, liver, cottage cheese, philli. I drink tea, dilute squash, skimmed milk.
What exercise did you do and how long and times...
1. Why at my pre assessment did the check the vein in my neck? Why do they canulate there?
They checked my neck to see I would be able to breath while having the op. The canula was in the back of my hand
2. I'm having a tooth out 2moro, that won't be a problem for the anethetist will it, ya...
I usually have three meals and three snacks.
Breakfast is a small slice of wholemeal toast with 2-3sp baked beans.
Lunch is a couple of chicken pieces, sp cottage cheese and a couple of crackerbreads
Dinner is liver and onions, mashed potatoes and a couple of peas.
I snack on cottage cheese or...
Same here. When I was in hospital just after the surgery I was told directly that I should not have had the op and it was a waste of money. What they did not see was that I had lost 3st between being refered and the op and I went on to loose another 7st 5lbs!
Love buying matching undies. Pretty ones from m&s. Manage to drop of them on ebay often. Big enough pants available to hide a baggy tum but still dainty enough to look nice. ........ Even bought some stockings the other week!!!!
You stop losing weight when you are eating enough cals. A lighter body uses less cals so you get to a healthier weight before the loss stops.
My team do not remove the gallbladder either.
