    FB weight loss groups ....query

it is a closed group (not private as I stated earlier) so although non members can't see posts they can find out who are members and the name of the group kind of gives the game away if you are trying to keep your surgery private.

Hi Sophie, not too sure if you have been onto the Hearltlands group on facebook recently but a couple of hours ago Heather posted that Mr. Kumar has emigrated to/or is about to emigrate to New Zealand. This may (or may not) have any bearing on the lists at Heartlands.

    West Midland Hospitals-waiting times

Hi Mecca, I am on the waiting list at Walsall Manor, I went on the list 1st August 2011. I had my first appointment in August 2010 but it took longer than normal because my file was archived and my GP didn't follow BEN PCTS' pathway and I had to appeal. I spoke with Tracey today and she...

    Maybe some good news....

I really hope it all goes well for you. I have followed your commentary on your struggles and you have really persevered. Fingers crossed for some positive news from the bariatric powers that be.

Looks like no op for me once again :(

Hi Fuffs, I would go back to your PCT and check which hospitals they will fund. It may be worth asking you GP for a referral to WM anyway, so atleast you are in the system. I am with BEN pct and my GP referred me directly to Walsall Manor despite Heartlands also offering bariatric surgery.

Proximal/distal? Exactly how much is bypassed?

Hi all, I forgot to ask this question at my initial consultations (but will definately ask my surgeon when my time comes). How much of your small intestine was bypassed? Did you as the patient have any input in this? Is it dependant on BMI? Is it the more that is bypassed the greater the...
