    Plastics abroad :)

I'm going with New Look Holidays, same surgeon as did my arm lift and neck / face lift last August. Very pleased with them. Final surgery will be lower body lift in August. After losing 100kg there was / is a fair bit of excess skin!

If you could offer one bit of advise what would it be.

Best advice I would give is take plenty of photos now and on the way down. You will never be this big again, and it's good to look back and reflect how far you've come, further down the line. Take measurements too. Next best advice - throw/give away all those too big clothes apart from 1 item...

Is it normal for a fill to take some time to kick in?

Not sure if you should be eating chicken 3 days after a fill. I was banded by Paul Super on the NHS, and am on liquids for 1 week before another week of puree/soft after a recent refill.

Buy from Charity shops whilst you are shrinking, then you won't feel the pinch (either way):-)

    My "PCT" won't fund . . .

It's precisely this type of view that gives us a bad rep with those who don't believe the NHS should fund bariatric surgery. The NHS didn't cause our loose skin problems. We did.

    Gastric band worry

    My "PCT" won't fund . . .

I don't have any problems now as there isn't much fat left under the loose skin, but when I did get sore under my belly - the first sign of soreness - I slathered on the Savlon, job done. I knew going into this there wouldn't be any NHS funding for skin removal so I set up an aggressive saving...

    Long term bander question

An update (as also posted on Mandie's 'Pouch' thread... OK. Had a barium swallow under X-ray today, and they took 1ml out of my band leaving me with 6½mls. The relief was instantaneous. There is no 'pouch' or any other distortion - just restricted space down my oesophagus within the confines...

    pouch ??

OK. Had a barium swallow under X-ray today, and they took 1ml out of my band leaving me with 6½mls. The relief was instantaneous. There is no 'pouch' or any other distortion - just restricted space down my oesophagus within the confines of the band. I asked the consultant if it was a common...

    pouch ??

Mandie - I have exactly the same symptoms and have an emergency X-Ray barium swallow arranged for Friday to see what the problem is (my last fill was 10 months ago) I'll update this thread with any relevant advice if I have developed a similar problem.

    Long term bander question

Hi Michelle I have sort of the opposite problem. Some background: I was banded nearly 2 years ago so I count myself as a seasoned bander. I was at 20 stone, after losing 6½ stone during a 2 year 'pre-op' with ww. I am now under 10 stone, with a BMI in the low 20's and frankly getting bony in...

    Has your shopping list changed

In the old days I would occasionally do the food shopping on-line, and your previous purchases are already listed as 'favourites'. It is horrifying to look at that list now and see what cr*p I used to buy on a regular basis - cream cakes, cookies, biscuits, frozen desserts, battered...

    Flucuating Weight

This is why WW works for me - that weekly support and weigh in - being answerable to someone else. Try cutting out all the lattes and cappucinos for a week. Swap them for Americanos / espressos. They don't use skimmed milk in Costa / Starbucks - only SS, so you may be consuming far more...

    Flucuating Weight

Give you a good talking to. The dominatrix kit doesn't go down well in public so you'll never experience that. (Sorry)

    Its ok to feel hungry

Yes. Real hunger is when a tomato or apple will stop the urge to eat. Head hunger is when only a cake or biscuit will do.
